Sharing Tongues [Open;pls join]

The newly appointed warrior Wildheart and the apprentice Quickpaw were spending the morning sharing tongues near the apprentice's den. It was still weird for the ginger tom to be a warrior, but he felt bad for Quickpaw, who had been an apprentice nearly as long as Wildheart himself. As they shared tongues, they talked about how tense the clans had become. Quickpaw was also talking about her training, how hopefully she'd be ready to be a warrior soon, like Wildheart. The tom agreed, assuring the silver she-cat that she'd be done soon. "I sure hope so," she said.

Mottleheart watched the two with a curious gaze as he sat near the fresh-kill pile, his tail curled around his paws. He had thought about grabbing something to eat but had decided against it - his hungry could wait until the others of the Clan had eaten. But as he waited for others to take their fill, he had caught sight of Wildheart and Quickpaw chatting with each other. His ear twitched as he found himself rising to his paws, padding across the clearing to join them. "What are you two chatting about?" he asked as he settled down next to them.

Newtkit proudly steped out of nursery. She almost expected that some older cat will be angry and will bring her back to the nursery. But this didn´t happen. Yet. And she came closer to four cats on the clearing. They were all strange to Newtkit, which didn´t wait for some moments and immediately bursted: "Hi, I am Newtkit. Who are you? She was a little nervous, but she knew that meeting her clanmates is good and healty for her.

Specklepaw, who was sitting near by the group of four cats heard the little kit's outburst and pushed herself up. She padded over to them, wondering what a kit could be so excited about. "Hi Wildheart, Quickpaw, Mottleheart. And who's this little fellow? Oh and congrats on becoming a warrior Wildheart!" She said with happiness. Listening to herself she realized her voice was shaking again. She sighed, laying down, all of a sudden feeling weak. Ugh, I need to start socializing more. And I need to go out on patrols! Where is Crowfoot these days?

 Shaking her head she remembered the kit's name. She started to lick her paw and looked at the young kit. "You're the new kit aren't you? Newtkit was it?" She said the words a little stronger this time and the spark that had faded from her eyes since she was first apprenticed was slowly coming back. Blinking her eyes she went back to her licking and waited for the kit's response.

Newtkit was happy when apprentice greeted so kindly. WindClan was surely full of kind and nice cats. Guessing her name was quiete a surprise for little kit, which almost expected that no one knew her. But she realized that some cats know her by her name! Cat coloured in many brown patterns answered to Specklepaw´s questions: "Yes, I am Newkit. How did you know me? And what is your name? I don´t know you." Questions were almost bursting out and she realized that being patiente can also be good solution. Newtkit became silent, waiting for Specklepaw´s answer. Kit didn´t pay attention that she had told her name to apprentice.

Dovekit soon appeared behind Newtkit, blue eyes widening at the older cats. Her mud-colored fur was tufted up and messy from playing with her brother all day, but her eyes were wide and sparkling.

"An' I'm Dovekit," she chirped, plopping down beside her denmate. Taking in the sights around her, she began a pitiful attempt at washing herself, ears pricked high on her head to listen closely for the answers to Newtkit's questions. She barely knew any of these cats anyway; romping by them in order to pounce on a leaf a few tail-lengths away barely counted as meeting.

Mottleheart blinked when a small voice spoke up, turning his head only to find a young kit looking up at him. His tail swished, not having time to speak until Specklepaw stepped forward and greeted the small group. He gave the young apprentice a dip of his head in greeting, glancing at the small group that was gathering as yet another kit joined them. He couldn't deny the purr that rose in his throat at the sight of his Clanmates talking to one another, sitting down as he turned his attention to the kits. "Its nice to meet the two of you," he said as he curled his tail around his paws. "My name is Mottleheart. This here is Wildheart, Quickpaw and Specklepaw," he said, feeling the need to introduce the young kits to their Clanmates. It seemed so long ago that Mottleheart had to learn the name of every cat in the Clan, now he knew them all by heart.

It was bright and warm outside, the sun's morning rays washing over WindClan camp. After coming back from the dawn patrol, Quailfeather saw her Clanmates sharing tongues by the fresh-kill pile. She didn't have anything else to do until sunhigh- she could afford a break. Plus, she wouldn't mind a juicy hare right about then. Brushing the soot from the territory off her paws on the soft grass of camp, the experienced warrior padded over to join them. She settled her gray speckled self down next to Mottleheart, a respectable warrior she considered her friend. "Good morning," she purred to them, swiping a smaller rabbit from the prey pile over to her, positioning it so that the brown and white tom could share if he wanted to. "How are you all?"

Brackenberry was trying his best to talk to other cats, but his indefinite struggle seemed to never stop. He never joined ceremonies and took most patrols by himself. This problem was increasing in the way it affected him negatively, and he even had his nest farther away from the others. He had to keep tryin, though, so he decided to join the other cats. "Uh, h-hello."

Newtkit carefully noded to every cat which came near, sometimes she greeted with silent voice. Her greet was loudest when Dovekit appeared. Having a company of another kit was much better, after all she was no inside the full clan life. Most of the time Newkit was quiet, watching all great warriors which were still coming and trying to guess, which one shall be her future mentor. Apprenticeship would be extremely interesting. But she remembered that she was here just to get know her clanmates. And one of Mottleheart helped her a lot, by introducing her new names.

Specklepaw turned and saw Brackenberry coming toward them. "Oh hi Brackenberry! Nice day isn't it? I'm so glad it's green-leaf! Anyways, like Ashstar said, how are you guys?" She smiled, finally feeling like her old self again. She then pushed herself up and sat up straight and stretched each paw in turn. She looked down at the kits next to her and flicked her tail over their backs. Looking around she wondered where her mentor and mother was. Pushing the though away Specklepaw continued to chat away with the other cats.

Seeing Newtkit's silent greetings, Specklepaw stooped low and whispered to the kit. "No need to be shy. We don't bite! We're all clan mates here, so don't be shy." She smiled at the young, light brown kit beside her. Flicking her tail across the kit's ears one last time she sat up and listened to the other cats news.

Wildheart and Quickpaw both purred a greeting to Mottleheart as she asked what they were talking about. "We were just talking about finishing up Quickpaw's training. I was about to offer help when you arrived," Wildheart answered. He nodded his thanks to Specklepaw. "Thanks!" he purred with pride.

When Quailfeather padded up, it was Quickpaw who answered this time. "G-good morning, I'm doing al-alright,
yourself?" She moved closer to Wildheart as more cats arrived. She never really liked crowds, although with a silent purr Wildheart managed to calm her down.

Talonkit was awoken by the mewings and various conversations going on outside of the nursery. He squeezed himself out of his mother's grasp, peeking from the edge of the nursery. He shook his sleepy head, blinking several times, trying to gain focus as he watched from afar. He began to stretch reflexively, spectating the discussions taking place before him. I wonder what they're talking about, he wondered silently, his eyes watching intently.

He still wasn't very well accustomed to his clanmates, not even able to recognize their names. Even yet, he felt a sort of kinship with them. They were his clan, and mother always told him that the clan was family.
