Sharing Tongues [OPEN]

Though she was really in no mood to speak to anyone besides Mistlepaw at that point in time, Ivybrook lay in the middle of camp with a flat expression stuck on her face. The thin morning mist spread out around her and she looked down to the tufts of grass at her paws, staring into the droplets of dew. Her emerald green eyes were reflected back at her, and all she could bring herself to notice was the new claw marks against her eye. The pain was no longer a concern for her, and she was fairly sure that she'd still be able to see, but Ivybrook didn't like the way that it made her feel vulnerable. Like she couldn't defend herself. If she was unable to defend herself, then how in Jaystar's name was she supposed to protect her Clanmates? If RiverClan were to face a sudden invasion right in that instant, would she be able to protect her friends and loved ones? Shifting her paws nervously, she began kneading the ground as she looked around the empty camp. It was so early in the morning, that she was sure no one would be awake at that point.

Treekit was up early, he sneaked out the nursery and saw the deputy, Ivybrook, kneading the ground. Treekit saw the flat expression on the she-cat's face and knew she was probably, most likely, wary of something. He slowly approached the deputy "um... hello?" He didn't know what to say, or how she'd react. He was a boring cat, or so the others think so. The brown tom curled his tail around his body and waited for the she-cat to respond, slightly afraid of what she might do.

Ivybrook hadn't even noticed the small kit that had, somehow, managed to sneak out of the nursery and approach her. When he spoke up, she jumped slightly, her breathing quickening as her pulse began to speed up. It took her a few moments of simply staring at the little kit before she was able to come up with a response, and when she finally did, she found it difficult to string together words in a sensible manner. "Treekit, I... Hello." She took a few moments more to gather herself before speaking again. "What are you doing out of the nursery so early in the morning? You aren't planning on sneaking out, are you?" Her final question came out with a bit of a smirk as she looked at the small kit, curious eyes staring back up at her.

"I'm sorry, did I scare you?" He asked softly, hushed to a whisper. "I'm not gonna escape!" He hissed defensively. Although he didn't like being teased he still didn't want to leave Riverclan camp, even if it meant adventure he wasn't gonna be a mouse-brain. "Why would you think that?" His eyes were narrowed and he was whispering again.

"I was just a little startled, that's all." Her face shifted when the kit hissed, and she backed away just slightly. "Some of your denmates have different ideas, little one." She mewed, lowering her ears a bit as she looked down at him. "If you would like to, though, you don't have to escape. I can take you to the Broken Pools, and you can learn to swim, if you haven't already." Her voice wavered slightly as she contemplating what in StarClan's name she was doing, offering another Queen's kit a chance to leave camp. They had to learn eventually though, right?

"Wait really?" He asked looking up, with wide eyes. "Hm, okay then..." He purred. "I don't know where that is.. though..." He mewed. "You'll show me... right?"

A slight grin appeared on Ivybrook's muzzle as the kit looked up at her with wide, surprised eyes. She would be more than happy to take the kit out... They would just have to be careful to get back to camp before his mother came to retrieve him. "Of course I will. It's in the middle of our territory, and we can walk there. Just be super quiet, and don't tell anyone about it. It's our little secret, alright?" The grey deputy smiled, and flicked her tail towards the exit. "Come on, now, we should be setting off. We wouldn't want it to get too dark while we're out in the territory, because that's when ShadowClan comes out."
