Rowanpaw barely flinched- his eyes had a steely glint in them. With a yowl he charged straight at Echopaw, bowling her over. He leapt on top of her, dragging his claws through her belly fur before leaping away.

Rowanpaw sat down heavily, bowing his head. Both apprentices were a bloody mess. "How about we... we call this a tie." He mewed, looking at Echopaw with a grin.

Echopaw was knocked aside as Rowanpaw ran into her, she yowled out as she dug his claws into her. She was about to lash at him when he jumped away.

Falling to her stomach in surrender she panted a bit of blood dripping down her eye. "Yeah I guess so. I was so close! Wasn't I Swiftclaw? I bet next time we face off I will win." She puffed up her chest pride filling her voice. But she knew really Rowanpaw won, next time it might be different though.

Rowanpaw glanced up at Swiftclaw, his face split into a huge, bloody grin. "Yeah,
how'd we do?"
He looked over Echopaw. "Geeze... are you okay?"

First of all, you guys are double posting when you shouldn't. All battle posts belong with your normal RP. Secondly, I didn't want them trying to kill each other. Thirdly, wait for everyone in the topic to post at least once before you take off like a rocket with the topic. I'm not entirely sure where to go from here now, honestly...

OOC: Okay, after a little bit of thought, we're just going to turn back time to right after both cats use their first attack. So Rowanpaw used Front Paw Blow and Echopaw used Belly Rake. Everything after that never happened. So stats are as follows:

So, from here on, you two will attack, then I will post, and repeat. So to kind of reiterate what was already said, both what your cat does in RP and the battle system information belong in the same post. This way, you don't fill up a whole topic with double posts~ I should have clarified that in my previous post, so my apologies on that ;w; So just to make sure that we fully got this, just stick with the three basic moves one more time (and only post once please!). After that, I will explain the special effect moves.

IC: Swiftclaw watched as the apprentices faced each other while Rowanpaw took the initiative and attacked first. It was a pretty hard hit, but Echopaw quickly retaliated with the belly rake. At first, Swiftclaw wasn't expecting too much hard hitting, but after watching the both of them attack the first time, he gasped and jumped into action. "Okay, okay!" he meowed, separating the two apprentices. "Uh, good job guys! But this time be careful. You don't need to be seriously hurting each other. This is just practice, after all. Keep claws sheathed please." He took a deep breath. That should have been the first thing he told them! What a stupid mistake... "Alright, so when you're practicing these moves, keep yourself low to the ground. Make sure that your weak points are covered. So try again, the both of you. Keep yourself sturdy on the ground."

Rowanpaw nodded, lowering himself to the ground. He leapt forward, his belly fur brushing a tuft of grass growing up from the marsh. He reared up, boxing her face gently with his paws.

Echopaw thought this was going to be a real fight but she still kept her claws sheathed as she drew her belly low to the ground. Her tail lashed about then she leaped in front of him belly still brushing the grass and smashed a paw at Rowanpaws head then leaped away.

Echopaw used Front Paw Blow on Rowanpaw, dealing 4 damage and using 5 stamina.

"Good, good!" Swiftclaw mewed. "Much better! Now to get into some of the special moves. Watch me." The tom tried his best to show the next few moves that they were going to learn.

OOC: OKAY COOL TIME TO LEARN THE SPECIAL EFFECT MOVES!!

Aight so hopefully by now, you've noticed that the moves underneath Belly Rake have a sort of 'special effect' that goes along with them. For example, if you look in the [Battle System] and look at leap-and-hold, you will see a description that says:

"Can't be hurt while using.
Damage inflicted each
turn move is in effect.
-Roll one "Effect Dice"-
1, 2, 3, works for one turn.
4, 5, 6, works for two turns."

Currently as an apprentice, this is the only 'dice' move that you can use, but as your cat grows in rank, you will be able to use Teeth Grip and Scruff Shake as well that use this. The easiest way to think about this is that the dice for the battle system works in the same way that the hunting dice works.

1. Click on 'post reply' at the top or bottom of the topic and type in your post using the battle system as you would for any other move.

2. Go to the box underneath the 'send' button where it says "Dices roll #1," click the drop down menu, and select "Effect Dice"

3. Click send!

4. A post by a user named Mistpelt will appear below your post saying something along the lines of: "[user] has done the following action: Effect dice [number]" The number will appear between 1 and 6.

5. Go to the battle system page and look in the chart. For the Leap and Hold move in the 'special effects' section, numbers 1-3 mean that the move lasts for that one turn only and by the next time you post, you have to use a different move. The numbers 4-6 means that the move lasts two turns including your first post using it. That means that your first post plus your next post will both be using Leap and Hold. In the case of a two-turn Leap and Hold, your cat will deal damage both turns. So if Swiftclaw used the move for two turns, he would do 9 damage each turn for a total of 18 damage. However, he will only use 10 total stamina~

6. Go back and edit your post to match the number you rolled. So, let's say that I rolled a 4 for Swiftclaw which means it's a two-turn Leap and Hold.

--Example:

[original post] Swiftclaw used Leap and Hold on _______ dealing 9 damage and using 10 stamina.

[edited post] Swiftclaw used Leap and Hold on _______ dealing 9 damage and using 10 stamina. This move is in effect for 1 more turn.

Make sense?

Go ahead an try it, the both of you just once. Use leap and hold and see what you get! Also, please ask any questions if you are confused ;w;

P.S. Other special effect moves are more or less self-explanatory cx Just make sure that you pay attention to the special effect when using the moves or when others use moves on you! Some moves stun and some moves even prevent you from using certain types of moves for a short duration.

Rowanpaw nodded before taking a step back. Suddenly he sprinted at Echopaw before throwing himself into the air and landing square on her back. He gently swiped his claws across her back- he didn't want to hurt her.
