Battle Training! [open to all who need it]

OOC: This topic is pretty much open for anyone who does not know how to use the battle system. This is an important step for members who haven't learned it as it is needed for any official battles in big plots!

Swiftclaw waited at the edge of the camp for those who needed to practice their fighting techniques. He had been told that he was going to lead it tonight and that made him nervous. Sure, he knew how to fight-- Mousefang made sure of that-- but he wasn't certain he could explain it. He felt like he got lucky with his recent hunting patrol... Maybe that luck would spread to training tonight too.

Echopaw padded up to her mentor beaming up at him, "Are we going on another patrol?" She asked excitedly. Her paws itched to dash around hunting prey again.

(Sorry about the small post, very busy at the moment.)

Rowanpaw padded up with a grin on his face. "Can I come?" He purred excitedly.

Seeing Echopaw show up suddenly made Swiftclaw a little more excited about this. Echopaw had really grown on him since they started their training a while ago, and seeing that she was still excited to go out made him feel good about his mentoring abilities. Even as Rowanpaw showed up behind her, the warrior shoved down his nerves and perked up for the apprentices. "Greetings, you two!" He mewed. "Of course you can come, Rowanpaw! Except today, we're going to do something a little different. Hunting and border patrols are important, but you also need to learn how to fight. So, today, we're going to do some battle training! If we can done in time, we can try to do some hunting as well." That was a good start to a hopefully good day.

Rowanpaw nodded, eager to get going. He wanted to prove how much of a good fighter he was.

Echopaw blinked then nodded, she dosen`t really know much battle moves at all. But she was eager to learn more that`s for sure.

"Let's get going then!" he mewed, standing up and padding out of camp and through the territory. Soon enough, the trio ended up at the burned sycamore tree where the mud was just a little softer than usual. It was the perfect spot for battle practice. "Okay, I want both of you to face each other. You will be practicing on each other through training today."

OOC: Okay so to explain the battle system.

1. Go to the rules and open the battle system in a new tab: [found here]

2. The first chart you will come across is the Battle Moves chart. You will look at this when picking out the move that you want your cat to use as well as when seeing how much stamina that move will use up. (If you are confused about your cat's stats, such as HP and Stamina, that can be found [here])

3. Look below to the second chart in the link. This chart will be labeled Damage Done by Each Rank. In this chart, you will find each move and how much damage is dealt to your opponent by each rank using said move. Since both of you are apprentices, you will look at the column labeled "A**" for whatever move you choose.

4. Once you have the move you want your cat to use in mind, start a new post. When your cat uses a move, you will type your post out as such:

Echopaw used Front Paw Strike on Rowanpaw dealing 6 damage and using 10 stamina.

--So in the above example, you will see that Echopaw struck Rowanpaw. She dealt 6 damage which was subtracted from her opponent's HP. She also used up 10 stamina, so that was subtracted from her own SP. Then you just go back and forth with your opponent until one of you reaches 0. At 0 HP, you may either choose for your cat to flee from battle or pass out and it's over. Or in special cases with a member's permission, you may kill your opponent if they reach 0.

-- If your cat reaches 0 SP (which has only ever happened a few times in the history of WCC), they simply collapse from exhaustion and/or flee and forfeit their battle.

There are a couple more steps than this, but it is the basic idea. So the both of you, go ahead and try to use the battle system on the other. For now, though, let's stick with the first three basic moves: Front paw blow, front paw strike, and belly rake since they do not have a special effect. I will get to those shortly~

Rowanpaw faced Echopaw, his tail lashing. Suddenly he turned sideways, driving his shoulder into her side and batting at her with his paw.

Rowanpaw used Front Paw Blow on Echopaw dealing 4 damage and using 5 stamina.

Echopaw hissed as Rowanpaw slammed into her side and hurting her with his paw a bit. Before Rowanpaw could back away she dove underneath him and kicked his underbelly.

Echopaw used Belly Rake on Rowanpaw dealing 7 damage and using 10 stamina.

Leafpaw hissed as he felt unsheathed claws rip at his belly. That hurt! He had no idea they'd be using claws.
Both belly and pride wounded, he was determined to get her back- with a snarl he leapt aside, his tail lashing. Suddenly he leapt forward, claws unsheathed. He raked his claws across her cheek, aiming for her eyes and ears.

Echopaw hissed at Leafpaw as she struck her cheek, she leapt backwards padding around Leafpaw. He will pay for that.. She kept a glare on him till finally she leapt beside him then clawed his side before he could react she jumped away.
