Urgent News Brought by the Thunder [Open]

Blizzardshine’s paws carried her as quickly as possible as they could across the muddy terrain that made up most of ShadowClan’s territory, not running only because she didn’t want to leave her patrol behind by accident. Some spots on her long fluffy pelt were now splattered with sticky mud, her paws completely covered by it, but she appeared to not notice at all. There were more urgent matters on her head than just dirty fur.

As she approached the camp belonging to ShadowClan, she started to feel her heart racing, hoping they wouldn’t get attacked before they even had a chance to talk with Leopardstar or Magpiewing. It was hard enough to stay focused on the duty that Darkstar had given to her thanks to the emotions going crazy inside her after what had happened in her own clan’s camp not long ago, she really didn’t want to get in a fight with a clan that thought they were coming with ill intentions of any kind.

Specklepaw kept pace with Blizzardshine, her paws thrumming with pent up energy. She had been away honing her hunting skills when everything went down in Thunderclan camp, and the moment she returned she was snatched up for this... patrol? She, Blizzardshine and her mother were made responsible to warn Shadowclan of the dangers that was Rockthorn. Though Specklepaw wished that she was there for it, she could have brought the skinny tom down with ease; she was still glad that she had an important part to play.

Spiderkit poked her head out of the nursery, her ears shooting up in expectance. The morning patrol was back, she thought, and he idea of fresh-kill ready to be eaten left her mouth watering. The young cat wobbled on her paws unsteadily as she left the cover of her nest and ventured out into the open, dragging her paws through the mud. Prey was still there to be eaten, but Spiderkit respected herself: there was only the best of prey for the best of kits. Smiling smugly as she awaited what she thought was just a patrol of ShadowClan cats, the kit noticed other older cats gathering outside, and he heart began pounding with a small sense of unease. Something appeared to be wrong, but she couldn't tell. Nervously, the kit laughed feebly and cowered behind a dead jay, her dark-furred body blending with the muddy camp floor. This was a new feeling for her, something that made her paws itch and her eyes widen.

Lionspark wanted to grumble to herself as she stumbled through the marshy landscape that was the ShadowClan territory as muck clung to her fur but held her tongue as she kept pace with her daughter and the ThunderClan deputy. Her head was still swimming with everything that had just taken place, unsure of her own emotions. What had happened? Was...Was it her fault? She had done her best to care for Rockthorn as she was certain he was a good tom beneath it all but...Her duties as a warrior and a mother had pulled her away from the tom and she was left questioning if that void she had accidentally left had caused this. However, her thoughts were interrupted by a voice that caught her off guard.

"What in StarClan?" Larksong hadn't been the happiest to get the morning watch of the camp's entrance - rather wishing she was curled up in her den but she couldn't dare dream of disobeying her father and so she sat in rather peace...At least before the scent of ThunderClan came wafting through the air. Within moments she was on her paws, staring into the marsh as the three cats came into view, recognizing only a single one of them as the ThunderClan deputy. They had no look of hostile intentions on their faces but Larksong kept her body in a defensive position as she stared at the cats. "What do you want?" she called, her eyes narrowed as she looked at them with a lashing tail. "What reason do you have to trespass onto our territory and stroll your way up to the ShadowClan camp?"

OOC: Note, ThunderClan has not entered the camp at this moment. They were only said to be approaching the entrance of the camp.

Bearpaw had already been awake, standing outside the apprentice den in the hope that he would catch his mentor before she left on a patrol and he missed the chance to train that day. If she blew him off, he planned to go out anyways, but he would never become a warrior if his mentor wasn't there to see that he was improving. However, his attention was diverted from waiting for his mentor by Larksong's voice. Invaders? He jumped to his paws, ready to defend himself if need be; the faint scent of ThunderClan drifted to his nose. ShadowClan and ThunderClan were traditional rivals, but coming straight up to their camp when the sun was already shining... That didn't seem like the best strategy, and though Bearpaw didn't care for ThunderClan, he doubted they would do something so careless. He walked towards the entrance of the camp, hoping to overhear what the ThunderClan warriors had to say for themselves.

Waspstep was with the group of Shadowclan warriors when they encountered the Thunderclan cats. He looked at the cats unsure of what they were here for. He noticed Specklepaw among them. Had she been caught being friendly with him? He kept his mouth shout as he observed the group from the back. If this broke out into a fight then he would take action but of course he would avoid Specklepaw. He wouldn't fight the apprentice.

As the group clamored into camp followed closely by the Thunderclan patrol, Thrushstripe was instantly on his feet, suddenly stopping to take a moment to stretch out his legs. Ever since he had become less mobile, his joints had turned to fire. It was awful, but it was something he had to deal with now. Of course, he didn't even consider going to Honeydrop for help. He could do things himself. However, as the smell of Thunderclan wafted strongly into his nose, all of his complaints flew out of his mind as he leaped out quickly, standing almost face-to-face with Blizzardshine. He recognized the she-cat from many many gatherings, but also from their one encounter in the tunnel underneath the Thunderpath. She had tried so hard to start up a nice chat, but Thrushstripe at the time wouldn't have it.

Glancing around and seeing neither Leopardstar nor Magpiewing in sight, Thrushstripe jumped into action. He was certain that Leopardstar was still feeling unwell and since the deputy wasn't here, he must have been on a patrol. Instead of letting them handle it, the elder took it upon himself to see to the matter. After all, he still had that kind of authority. "Ah, Blizzardshine," he meowed roughly. "What brings you... to Shadowclan tonight? I pray it is on good terms?" Even as he asked, the tom knew that the situation wasn't a good one. Suddenly bearing his leader face, he waited patiently for the Thunderclan cats to share their story.

Blizzardshine looked at Larksong as her voice reached her ears, lowering her head as a polite greeting as well to show that they came in peaceful terms “We are coming to deliver an urgent message, if Leopardstar or Magpiewing around?” Her voice was low, unusually serious and even slightly depressed. This was clearly not the deputy the cats had seen many times before at the gathering, if it wasn’t for her pelt and name, they could’ve sworn she was someone completely different.

Her attention, however, was soon snatched by Thrushstripe as he approached them, causing a half-smile to form on her muzzle. She still could remember the time she had tried to start a conversation with the grumpy former leader back at the tunnels after falling in by mistake, a conversation that simply could not be back then. Oh the irony, that in the time he finally appeared willing to talk, the news she had to share were so grim “Greeting Thrushsta-. I-I mean Thrushstripe” Well, calling him by his elder name surely would take some time for her to get used to… “I wish my motives were different, but I’m here to deliver a warning”.

“There is a rogue and former warrior of ThunderClan loose somewhere on the forest, a heavily scarred dark grey tabby that goes by the name of Rockthorn” She was making sure that her voice was loud and clear for all the cats around them to hear “He is extremely dangerous. He maimed a WindClan apprentice, ripping their face to shreds without any real reason, only to gloat about it infront of my whole clan and Ashstar herself. He nearly killed one of our own kits on plain daylight and almost did the same with her father after threatening to kill him and his whole family when he reacted to save her from his vicious claws. Knowing he could be a danger for any cat in the forest if exiled, Darkstar’s choice was death penalty…but before he could be executed he managed to escape. He won’t hesitate to attack or even kill anyone, no matter how big or small, if they cross paths with him. Please, you need to be cautious”.

The elder listened to the Thunderclan deputy speak, his expression growing harder and deeper the longer she carried on. Not another rogue left to wander. However, the elder knew that it wasn't Thunderclan's fault... Well, not entirely. They should have been able to keep him from running out of camp but once he was gone, he wasn't easy to track, especially after a short time. With a heavy sigh, the elder nodded to Blizzardshine. "Thank you for coming to us about... this," he said. "I will make sure that Leopardstar and Magpiewing knows. We will... all be on the lookout for this disgrace. I do pray that we find him quickly and be rid of him soon."
