Urgent News Brought by the Thunder [Open]

Swimming was proving to not be one of Blizzardshine’s strong points, and in all honesty she was starting to feel a greater respect towards their neighbors, who made it seem so easy. Not even once she allowed her patrol to try and cross until she had decided it was safe though, not wanting to put their lives in danger. She even had to give up once and look for a place around the river to be able to cross without the risk of drowning, taking away some of their precious time…well, on the brighter side this was keeping her mind busy enough to avoid her troubled emotions to take over like they did for a short period back on ThunderClan’s camp. If she wasn’t as worried for the cat of RiverClan and was so determined to carry on with the task that Darkstar gave to her, she probably would’ve decided to wait near the border for a patrol instead.

When they arrived to the sore of the part of the river that served as a barrier between them and RiverClan’s isle-camp-thing, she decided to sit and recover her breath, knowing that with how close they were they would be able to spot them really soon. She was wondering if they would be able to recognize her as ThunderClan’s deputy with her usually long fluffy fur all wet and flat against her body. She was more than willing to once more try and go across the body of water if they took too long to notice them somehow though…even if she embarrassed herself with her pitiful swimming skills while doing it.

Leopardclaw clambered out of the river and shook out his thick golden fur, flinging droplets of cold water onto the sandy bank around him. Once before when they were apprentices he and Lichenfang had paddled around in a shallow pool; he had hated swimming then, and now his opinion was far from changed. How can these cats stand it? With a disgusted spit, the large tom padded a few paces to stand beside Blizzardshine, flashing the deputy a reassuring half-smile. Glancing back, he waited for Cinderpaw to finish her swim across the border and glanced around, trying his best not to let his shock and anger break out of the temporary wall he had formed to hold them in. Right now, what's important is to warn the other clans of the danger.

Pale green eyes watched the newcomers catch their breath before slinking silently through the reeds to appear from behind them. Ivyfall cut off their route of escape, pinning them between the River and her little troupe. Her back wasn't arched yet, but her fur was standing up a little higher than usual as she meowed lowly at the pair, looking at them with pure disdain. "What is the ThunderClan deputy and one of her lackeys doing so close to RiverClan camp? I hope you had a good reason, your warrior's last little excursion on Sunningrocks has left RiverClan with ill-will towards you lot."

Behind Ivyfall, Frogjaw and Sparkwillow stood their ground, keeping a close eye on the pair before them. Personally Frogjaw didn't want this to escalated into a fight, so he was really counting on Blizzardshine to have a good reason. Sparkwillow on the other paw was keen to test her mettle against these forest cats.

Cinderpaw followed Leopardclaw her eyes wide in shock. Hurrying out of the water she shook her pelt out spraying water around her. Padding to Leopardclaw side she stuck to the tom like glue, she was scared of these warriors. Sniffing the air she smelled Thunderclan dimply she remembered the white tom being the deputy of that clan. That even made her more scared but curious, why did the Thunderclan deputy cross the river if they supposedly hate the water? What did they want of Riverclan that was so important? But at sensing the harsh serious vibe of every cat she knew to keep her jaw shut.

Blizzardshine’s ears raised as soon as Ivyfall spoke, causing her to turn around rather quickly. She was expecting the RiverClan cats to come swimming from the camp in front of them, not from behind and cornering them like they did. That had been quite a clever tactic and a very good way to get the upper paw on them if they had decided to come with ill intentions, she had to give that to Ivyfall.

“We d-wait, what? One of our warriors dared to cross the border at Sunningrocks?” Those news were definitely a surprise for the deputy, did Darkstar knew about this? Well, she would definitely need to ask later, and in case she didn’t inform her of this so they could investigate who had done such thing. However, as soon as the thought came, she quickly shook it away, as it wasn’t the reason they had come all the way over there.

“My apologies for that, Ivyfall, but there is something way more urgent at the time. I wouldn’t dare to put a single paw beyond the borders and even less try to swim the river if what I had to say wasn’t important. Is Fishstar around?” Her words were polite, her ears low and she was careful to keep a relaxed posture to let the RiverClan deputy and her companions know that she came in peaceful terms.

"Yes, some warrior by the name of Rockthorn. He antagonised our warriors, and tried to dispute the border before our patrol chased him off." Ivyfall replied succinctly, her voice clipped as she retold the incident with icy calmness. The only signs of her irritation was how her ears tilted backwards a tad, and how her claws peaked out of her paws. Not an outright statement of war, but a reminder that she was a battle hardened warrior, and the last time that ThunderClan and RiverClan clashed, they'd won.

However her restrained irritation was quick to shift to curiosity at the deputy's statement. What on earth could be so important that she was willing to risk a claw to the face for? Her clan had a bad history with outsiders harming their kin, she wouldn't have been surprised if one of her more zealous warriors had taken action before asking. Perhaps a fire? No, there was no smoke in the air... Rogues? Possibly. With a slight tilt of the head, and a twitching of her whiskers, a flicked tail had her warriors relax.

Sparkwillow pressed against her apprentice still, in case anything went wrong. She didn't want Cinderpaw in a conflict against such experienced warriors so soon.

"Whatever you plan on telling Fishstar, you may tell me. There is no way we are allowing you into our camp. I'll be sure to pass on your message, should it be relevant." Ivyfall looked over to the half-drowned looking deputy expectantly, her posture relaxed now, finally.

Leopardclaw jumped slightly as Ivyfall's accusing voice rang out behind the trio, and the golden spotted tabby warrior turned to come face to face with three RiverClan cats. Not being able to help the suspicious snarl curled on his lip, he decided to stay quiet and let Blizzardshine handle the diplomatic measures required. At the mention of Rockthorn invading Sunningrocks, he couldn't help but open his jaws in a silent gasp. Attacking a WindClan apprentice, trying to murder me and my family, antagonizing RiverClan? StarClan when will he stop?!

The white deputy’s ears went flat against her skull and her eyes closed tightly for a second as a long sigh escaped her muzzle. Why? Why it had to be Rockthorn? She knew that after what had happened earlier that same day, the decisions and crimes the former warrior had or would commit weren’t anything she should care about anymore, but knowing how deep he was digging his grave wasn’t really helping Blizzardshine at all, not when only the day before she still considered him a friend.

“We came to deliver a warning. The warrior you just mentioned, Rockthorn, had caused a lot of trouble recently to ThunderClan and his position within the clan starting to become unstable. But earlier today he arrived to camp with blood on his claws and face, and later on we found out that he had brutally mauled a Windlan apprentice at Fourtrees. On his very own words, it was to the point where the young cat got their face ripped to pieces” Her words had gone from polite to gloomy with a mix of disappointment and anger in them “And if that wasn’t enough, back in camp he grabbed one of our kits and would’ve successfully killed her if it wasn’t for his father that rushed to save her, all while threatening to kill their whole family right in front of the whole clan” She pointed at Leopardclaw, who was standing right next to her, with her tail as she spoke. The memory of when she had caught them fighting to death with Leopardclaw’s injured kit not far away flashing before her eyes and causing her to feel a lump in her throat for a couple seconds.

She allowed some seconds to pass so Ivyfall and the warriors with her could process the info before continuing “He was supposed to get death penalty for his actions, but before our medicine cat could return with the deathberries he managed to get away in a moment of confusion…” Blizzardshine was beyond embarrassed to let these cats know that they hadn’t managed to keep Rockthorn in camp nor catch him right after, but hiding this fact to them would be just stupid “He is extremely dangerous and unstable and we have no idea of where he could be at the time, so we suggest you to stay alert. He won’t hesitate before mauling or killing one of your clamates in cold blood if they cross paths with him, he already made that clear”.
