A Walk To Remember (closed for Maple~)

Blacktwig woke up from his sleep, looking over at Maplecloud, the grey tabby she-cat's nest. Oh! I shouldn't sleep so long, thought Blacktwig, head feeling muzzy from torpor. The tom scrambled to his paws and hurried outside. "Maplecloud! I promised you a patrol?" puffed Blacktwig, his knees buckling. Sleep never clouted him so strongly. Blacktwig tilted his head, and, with new puissance, he nuzzled Maplecloud.

Maplecloud awoke from her dreams, feeling Blacktwigs ginger nuzzle and purring softly. It had been a while since they had become, to some, unfathomable mates. She jumped from her nest, stretching and walking into the sun. She scrunched her eyes, the beaming light momentarily blinding her. She blinked out the sleep from her eyes and turned back to Blacktwig, "Yes, I believe you did." She replied cheerfully, remembering just why she was so excited. It had been a while since their last patrol together. She pointed towards the freshkill pile with her muzzle as if to ask, 'would you like to grab a bite to eat?' She cocked her head to the side a whisker, smiling from one side of her face to the other.

Blacktwig followed her out into the clearing, where the sunlight tarred his vision briefly. This didn't occlude his charmed purr. He sat down next to her near the fresh-kill pile contentedly, then glanced at her, spotting her gesture. He smiled. "How've you been?" he asked, before bending down and taking a bite of a juicy thrush. He hoped she was well. His tail curled beside her, and he licked his forepaw.

"Couldn't be better!" She exclaimed. I'm not all that hungry. You eat up, and we'll set out whenever you're ready!" She smiled lovingly, her body tingling when he wrapped his tail around her. She returned the gesture by wrapping her own tail around his body.

He finished up, licking his chops to cleanse them. "I'm ready," he purred, prefabricating and standing beside his mate. He began to pad out of camp at a miring pace so that Maplecloud could keep up with him, and, looking around, spoke. "Is there anything I can do for you?" he asked coolly.

"Just listen closely, She grinned inside, only looking serious on the outside."Blacktwig, I'm pregnant." She stared Blacktwig in the eyes, joy all but bursting from her ears, and she tingled all over with the most beautiful sensation she had ever felt.

Blacktwig purred and his whiskers kissed Maplecloud's cheek. "Oh, Maplecloud..." he said with euphoria. His tail curled around Maplecloud's belly. "They'll be the best kits in the world." The warrior touched his nose lovingly to Maplecloud's, dreaming of their amazing kits. He pressed up against her, knowing that she would be a wonderful mother, and purred loudly.
