Stonekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Stonekit padded out of the nursery with a gleaming gray coat, yellow eyes twinkling with happiness. He was finally going to start training to become a warrior. Looking up at the leader the large kit revered, Stonekit waited with a slightly puffed up chest for her to speak.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. "Stonekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Stonepaw. Your mentor will be Smokepelt. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."

Stonepaw went to touch noses with his mentor. He felt a rush of satisfaction as he did so, his new role crashing down on him as the apprentice realized that he wouldn't be taking naps in the Nursery and playing moss-ball anymore. Now, he would spend his time contributing to the clan and training.

Smokepelt touched noses with his new apprentice, surprised that he would be training a younger cat so quickly after his demotion. "Training starts tomorrow," the dark grey and white tom said blandly and stepped back from Stonepaw.

Stonepaw nodded eagerly at his mentor in response to his curt reply, not deterred from Smokepelt's bland tone. He couldn't wait to start training as an apprentice as make his mentor proud.
