Sibiling Time Continued!:3

Roaringkit squeezed through the small gap his sister had found earlier in the Medicine Cat den. The tunnel was only a few rabbit hops long, dipping before arching upwards to reveal a green-yellow cover of wild plants on the other side. His tiny body allowed for an easier time through than most. He wasn't feeling like he was suffocating like some of the larger cats would, the rock wall sides instead only lightly brushing his black pelt.

Once he got out to the other side, the kit gaped at the sight that lay before them.

Echokit slid in beside her brother. Her breath started quickening at the small, confided space of the tunnel. She was a average size kit but she was big enough that the rocks and dirt kept snagging at her pelt. All she wanted now was to get out of there. But at seeing her brother confidently move forward she was filled with determination. It was her idea to sneak out anyways she can`t take it back now.

Suddenly the short tunnel went upwards meeting the sunlight pouring through and her brother paused when he poked his head out. "What do you see?" She anxiously said as she tried getting to the hole to peer out.

"Woah," Roaringkit breathed, taking in the marsh that seemed to stretch on forever to the tiny kit. There were few trees sticking up, stretching clawed bare branches up to the sky. Wild grasses outlined pools of murky water, tinged with melting snow.

The kit scrambled out of the saftey of the tunnel and turned to her excitedly. "Echokit, you have to see this!"

"I would like too, Roaringkit!" She grumpily said, shoving herself out of the dark, dirt tunnel to stand beside her brother.

Gasping at the breathtaking sight before her all she could say was, "Woah." Her eyes grew wide as she scanned the marshes.

"This is amazing!!" Her voice peeped up, excitement getting to her now. Paws itching to run around, to explore and not have watching eyes over her all the time. She couldn't stand it anymore and bolted in a random direction.

Roaringkit was startled to see his sister tear off into the marsh with seemingly unrestrainted glee. "Wait for me!" He called, not wanting to miss out in the fun. Normally he might've had sense to be more cautious and worry about Echokit's recklessness, but the marshes' hypnotizing chirps and croaks rendered his common sense useless, turning its once-solid panic alarm into a murky pool of unconscious deep in the back of his mind.

Echokit raced off in a direction, her eagerness to see rushed to her paws before her mind had time to think. The dangers they may face dissolved in her mind as she heard new voices and saw new things bolt passed her. "Well then you better hurry!" She laughed at the freedom they had.

The tiny kit raced after his sister, feeling happiness build up inside him like a dam ready to burst. With the ground sinking lightly into his feet, the wind roaring in his ears, and the sounds of the marshes filling up his heart, Roaringkit never felt more invincible.

Then he saw a dip in the land. It was like a jaw open wide to swallow them whole, a hunter waiting mouth-wide for scraps of fur to lodge themselves into unsuspecting sharp roots jutting out like teeth. The kit saw his sister running eagerly towards it and felt his everything inside him collide into a bolt of panic.

"Echokit, stop!"

Echokit raced on through the wind beating against her ears and the sound of her paws running she couldn't hear her brother.

All she knew was that she never felt more alive.

Not seeing the dip in the land from afar until it was too late she slid down the rocky cliff face. Grasping with her short claws for dear life her eyes were wide, her heart beating in her chest so hard. She dare not glance down to the jutting roots or the hard ground fast below her. "ROARINGKIT HELP!!" She screamed with all the air her small lungs could muster out.

Ooc: Time for an annoying little brother to pop in!

Duskkit, who had been stalking his siblings, suddenly heard Echokit scream out for help. Dashing to Roaringkit's side, he stared in fright at his sister down in the hole. Slapping his tail on Roaringkit's back, he rushed over trying to grab his sister's scruff. "Roaringkit! Stop standing there frozen to the ground like an icicle and come help!" Finally grabbing his sister's scruff he tugged but the lose ground beneath his paws was crumbling away. Tugging harder he flicked his tail once again summoning Roaringkit to his side to help.

Roaringkit didn't have time to stand around, he realized with a jolt. The kit ran to his siblings' sides with his blood racing through his veins and heart beating rapidly. He went over to try to hoist Echokit up with his brother, but his grasp was weak and useless.

'I have to save her!' Roaringkit thought with desperation. He found himself hating his weak, tiny body as Echokit slipped further and further. How could he ever be a warrior if he can't even do anything when they need him most?

Seeing his brother helping with pulling their sister up made Duskkit glad. But he knew that they were losing their grasp on Echokit. Thinking he said, "Wait here! I have an idea!" Dashing away through the undergrowth, he saw what he was looking for. Looming ahead of him was massive ivy tendrils. Looking for the thickest one he grab it with his claws and ripped it off in his teeth. Falling it back through the first he brought it to Echokit. "Here! Wrap this around yourself! Roaringkit when she is in the ivy you and I need to pull with all our might!" Moving as quickly as he could, Duskkit pushed the ivy tendril down to his sister. I must save my sister!

In the tiny part of his mind where his alarm for Echokit wasn't ringing, Roaringkit felt a glimmer of pride for his brother's quick thinking. 'My brother is really amazing,' the kit thought as he wordlessly wove the ivy tendril around his tiny body. Duskkit has given him something that maybe he could do for his sister.

Echokit could hardly hear her siblings through her heart beating and her tiny claws scampering against the rock surface trying desperately to hold on.

When the ivy fell next to her she glanced up in confusion, what is she supposed to do with this? Vaguely she heard something about wrapping so she tried doing that. Almost losing her grip multiple times, she managed to wrap the massive ivy around her small frame.

"Now what?" She called out desperately, losing her grasp every heartbeat.

"Hang on Echokit!" Roaringkit called down the her. With determination, the tiny kit began to use all his strength to start pulling his sister up. To his fustration, the trendril stayed still. Heaving, Roaringkit unsheathed his claws to get a grip into the ground and tried again while ignoring his screaming muscles. It didn't budge.

Roaringkit felt a prickling sensation in the corners of his eyes. Why wasn't it working? Why isn't he strong enough? He looked over at Duskkit with his yellow eyes wordlessly pleading for assistance, feeling ashamed while he did so.

Understanding his brother's need for assistance, Duskkit dashed toward and hooked his claws into the ivy. Pulling, he felt his muscles screaming to stop. But he just pulled harder. Feeling the ivy starting to pull Echokit up, he heaved his fore-legs and dug his back claws into the ground. "Echokit, try to climb up as well! It might help." Looking at his sister he hoped she understood. Before he started pulling again, Duskkit glanced at the sky to search for owls or hawks. Seeing none, he pulled on the ivy tendril hoping that Echokit would try to push herself up. This has to work! I won't be able to live with myself if she dies!
