Nectarkit & Sweetkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to gathering their own prey gather beneath Tallrock for a clan meeting!" Smokepelt yowled, jumping up to the Tallrock.

Nectarkit heard the deputy call a clan meeting, and his curiosity was gained. He padded into the center of camp and looked up at Smokepelt.

Sweetkit watched her brother pad out of the nursery and saw an opportunity and ran after him. Once she reached him, Sweetkit stood on her hind paws. Placing her forepaws on Nectarkit's head she crossed her paws and leaned on him. Giggling Sweetkit looked up at Smokepelt and proceeded to act like she wasn't doing anything.

"Nectarkit, Sweetkit, please step forward," the deputy started. Once they did, he continued. "You both have reached the age of six moons and it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Nectarpaw and Sweetpaw. Your mentors will be Silentstrike and Squirrelsong. I hope that they pass down all that they knows onto you." With that, the tom jumped down from the great rock to greet the new apprentices.

Nectarkit pushed his sister off of him, then heard the deputy. Now Nectarpaw, he hurried over to below Tallrock and waited in awe and excitement for his mentor to come over to him.

When her brother pushed her off of him she collapsed onto the ground with a thud. "Ow..." Picking herself up off the ground Sweetkit looked up at Smokepelt in surprise as he called their names. Padding forward at his command her eyes lit up, realizing that she was about to become an apprentice.

Once the words had been said and Smokepelt came down from Tallrock, Sweetpaw padded forward. Going up to the deputy Sweetpaw quickly touched noses with the him and then turned to look for her mentor.

Squirrelsong couldn't believe it. All those moons as an apprentice she thought she would never be able to do anything because of her accident, and here she was as a mentor. She was completely unprepared when Smokepelt called her name as a mentor and spent a second staring at him in shock before realizing what she was doing. Hastily running forward, she bowed her head to touch noses with Sweetpaw. Her heart was pounding and she wished it wasn't obvious. Flicking her whiskers in joy, she smiled and tried to silently express her joy to her new apprentice.

Once she had touched noses with her mentor Sweetpaw started bouncing up and down with excitement. "Oh my gosh this is gonna be so much fun!" Sweetpaw quickly halted in front of Squirrelsong, wanting to say something else, but planted her feet wrong and face-planted into the ground.

"Hehe... whoops..." Giggling and looking up sheepishly, Sweetpaw smiled brightly, though there was an apologetic look mixed into it. "I'm sorry... I'm really clumsy."
