Emberpaw's Assessment [Closed]

Larksong sat just inside of the entrance of the camp, her eyes closed but ears alerted as she waited for the familiar paw steps of her apprentice. Training for Emberpaw had gone well and she was proud that it was time for her assessment. It was an exciting day and Larksong could only hope that everything would go well as she couldn't wait to see her apprentice finally become a true warrior of ShadowClan.

Emberpaw woke up and immediately came out of the apprentice den. It was perfect morning for animals hunting. For her assessment. All other cats were sleeping, only Larksong, was waiting for her at the exit of the camp. She hoped that her assessment would go good. There was a fear in Emberpaw, fear of badgers. A badger on her first training scared her so much, that she was not sure if she could survive another meeting with this horrible animal. She could only hope that only animals, that she would meet would be prey animals.

Blazeflight scrambled to meet Larksong and Emberpaw, knowing that Larksong hadn't been feeling too well.:Why don't you let me do it, Larksong? Don't want you to catch greencough!" Without second thoughts she nodded to Emberpaw, heading to the territory.

Emberpaw looked worried into her mentor but noded when Blazeflight mentioned that she should take a rest. Apprentice followed warrior into ShadowClan territory and thinking about assessment. She hoped that everything would go well. And that no badger would appear. Only ordinary prey and Emberpaw, that would be the best choice.

"Alrighty then, assessment time." She drew in a breath, remembering her missing mentor."I would like you to catch two squirrels and a bird of your choice. You won't see me, but I'll be watching you. You have until sunhigh, so I wish you the best of luck." She darted away into the trees, ready to trail behind Emberpaw.

Embepaw noded and said goodby to the Blazeflight. She had to be alone to caught all those needed prey. She knew that caughting all those prey won ´t be so easy, because squirrels and brids are living on the trees. She would need to climb a lot. There would also be a lot amount of seeking and looking into the air. It would be hard, but when she would finished it, Blazeflight would be very happy. And also Larksong.
Thinking she continue her path and looked up to the every tree near her. But before she could do anything brid flow away. Miss!

She didn´t even saw a brid, when it already escaped. She hoped that this bad start won´t influented on her much. Thinking about daily things, she continued. After some moments another voices disturbed her thinking. Another chance! She hoped that this time, luck would be on her side. StarClan help me! She steped closer to the tree. No! Squirell figured out that something was not right and escaped on the another tree. Miss!

Luck was not on her side. She won´t become a warrior! It was good that these two misses were very close to one another and that only a few minutes were since Blazeflight leaving. There was no another choice for her and she had to continue her assessment. She tried to thought of something encouraging and helpful. This time, she was closer to the catch. A squirell was on the tree and she managed to climb up and to came very near it. But branch was broken and squirrel heard her coming so it just escaped. Miss!

Emberpaw tried to calm her. She would dissapoint Larksong and Blazeflight. She would stay an apprentice till the end of her life! Another bird was on the floor. Maybe this time would be her lucky catch! Apprentice bowed and slowly approached. Bird flow away!

Apprentice was extremely sad. Her hunting abbilites were very bad. How would she catch anything.
After ten minutes of walking she saw something on the tree. A bird! It was very big blackbird eating strawberries. She calmed herself and climbed on the tree. Blackbird didn´t saw her. She came closer and then immediately jumped. Blackbird was hit and fall down on the floor not able to fly. Emberpaw jumped down and killed her first prey. Only two squirells to go.
