Twitchkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting," Ashstar yowled from atop the Tallrock.

Twitchkit raced out of the nursery, eyes shining and pelt well groomed. This would be her apprentice ceremony, and she was more than excited. It was hard for her not to ruffle her pelt as she moved past cats in order to get to the front, and once she did, she plopped herself down, looking up at Ashstar. When she was an apprentice, she'd be the best one ever! She'd beat all the others in races, play-fights, everything!
Hm, Twitchpaw, sounds pretty cool! The kit thought, smiling.

Ashstar nodded approvingly. "Twitchkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Twitchpaw. Your mentor will be Mottleheart. I trained him myself, and I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."

Since Twitchkit had forced herself to sit still while Ashstar spoke, she now almost leaped out of her spot, heading over to Mottleheart. The brown she-kit lifted her muzzle so that she could touch her nose to her new mentor's.
"I can't wait to start training!" Twitchkit said, laughing slightly.

Things were looking up for Mottleheart. Despite his close brush with death, he was feeling like his normal self again and the pain was nearly gone even if he was stuck with his nasty scars across his stomach. It brought him joy to watch the apprentice ceremony of the young Twitchkit, reminding himself of how things were good in WindClan but found himself blinking in surprise as Ashstar called out his name as the new mentor of the new apprentice. But yet as the the newly named Twitchpaw came bounding over him looking ready to take on the world, he found himself smiling as he leaned down to touch her noses. "Neither can I, Twitchpaw," he purred.
