Love Can Mend (CLOSED FOR DIMMEH)

"Oh?" asked Blacktwig, nuzzling her adoringly. His purring vibrated in his chest, and filled him with warmth—he knew he was next to the she-cat he loved eternally. Exhilarated for the good news, he began to smile, thinking about all of the things it could possibly be. He touched noses with Emberfall, closing his eyes as he relished the moment. They were gone for so long, and now... it felt perfect.

Emberfall took a deep breathe "There might be new family members on the way soon" she purred, she began to groom Blacktwig's fur, waiting for him to notice what she had meant.

Blacktwig contemplated what she meant for only a heartbeat, then figuring it out. "Oh, Emberfall!" he purred loudly, curling his tail around her and nosing her ear affectionately. "Have you thought of any names?" he asked, looking at her with eyes round with joy.

Emberfall shook her head "I wanted to think of the names with you" she mewed, her gaze was soft and she was clearly proud that she and Blacktwig were going to be parents again, it was unbelievable.

"Oh," said Blacktwig, flattered that she'd oblige. "Do you think we should name then when the time comes?" he asked, stroking her underbelly with his tail. He pressed up against her, purring tawdrily. He was nervous but excited—he and Emberfall were having a brand new litter of kits! He hoped it would go smooth, and she'd be fruitful. Blacktwig smiled widely, unable to contain his happiness.

Emberfall nodded "It's important to know what they look like first" she mewed, she felt like had been forever since she and Blacktwig had their most recent litter. She wished she was able to spread the news...but Blacktwig was from ThunderClan and she was from WindClan...cats would ask who the father is. She could lie but she didn't like lying, it made her feel dirty and not loyal.

"Yeah—we wouldn't want to be calling a white kit Sootkit!" laughed Blacktwig, but he liked that name. Sootkit... he contemplated warmly. I like it.. maybe I'll suggest it if any kit inherits my mostly black pelt. Blacktwig rolled on the grass, touching Emberfall's flank with his nose. I'm so excited! thought Blacktwig.

Emberfall looked at Blacktwig, she rolled over on top of him and giggled as she gently nuzzled his nose "You should tell your mother about her mate...Swiftheart" she mewed "It's important for her to know about your fathers death, she may be horrified and heartbroken but it's best for her to know that to not know" she explained, this was a pretty strong reason she thought it would be important for Mistywater to know of her mates death.

Blacktwig nodded, pawing at Emberfall a tad lazily. "I agree," he mewed sadly. "Mistywater should know. After all, it is her mate." Blacktwig got up, rubbing against Emberfall, and with a pang of fear wondered what he would do if she died. He would grieve endlessly; but what else? He loved Emberfall... he hoped she would never go.

Emberfall had noticed it had gotten slightly darker, and it would best be time for her to go "Remember to tell her" she mewed "Please" she mewed softly "I must go now...I will see you later, love" she mewed, her eyes gleaming.

"Bye," he said, orbs lovestruck. Blacktwig nodded, noting the attractive gleam in Emberfall's eyes. He briefly touched noses with her, as as he turned away, looking into the grim, hoary sky. His heart ballooned, thinking of their upcoming litter and the conversation they had just engaged in. As he began to trot back to camp, he saw the blades of grass flit past him. He cropped out the grungy segments of their confabulation, and it seemed heavenly, talk of new kits making him feel wonderful. He bounded away, keeping the wretched suggestion of telling Mistywater about Swiftheart's passing in mind. He dreaded this. Blacktwig coasted across the moors, until he reached ThunderClan's territory. He entered, and stepped into his den for the night, sighing happily. New kits, he thought, smiling.
