A patrol [Closed!]

Gustpaw waited in the clearing, hoping to go on a patrol, but needed a warrior to accompany her.

Crowpaw yawned he just awoke recently and he was still tired. He glanced around the camp looking for a patrol to join he didn't see one but maybe he could go with some other warrior. The apprentice headed towards Gustpaw hoping to join a patrol with her.

Jaypaw smiled shyly as she padded over to Gustpaw. The tail-less she-cat did bot socialize much with the other apprentices, spending time with Beetlepaw. She was begining to get concerned that they would nurture feelings for eachother, but she did not have time for that. The medicine cat apprentice must know better than that. "Hey, Gustpaw, right? Can I join you?"

Quailpaw came out of the apprentices' sleeping area, ready to go on patrol. She nodded to her sister Gustpaw and to Crowpaw, but barely flicked an ear at Jaypaw. "You guys going on a patrol? Any warriors coming?"

Seeing a group of apprentices gathering near the camp entrance, Smokepelt decided to check it out. Getting up from his spot in the sleeping area, the tom gave his hind legs a stretch and let out a yawn before padding over to them. "Going on a patrol?" the tom meowed with a smile, glad to see so many apprentices eager to get out of camp, even though he assumed they knew that they weren't aloud to leave without a warrior.

Spotting some younger apprentices start to gather together, Kindlepaw decided she might as well go on a patrol as well. Trotting after her father, she still wasn't on the greatest terms with him and gave a simple nod, not daring to meet Quailpaw's gaze.

Apprentices gathered quite quickly around the warrior, Crowpaw inspired to be one great as Ashstar one day and his warrior ceremony was coming up soon as well. He was pleased with the number of cats coming along, with this many eager apprentices he was sure that they could get lot's of food for the clan tonight. She questioned why Guestpaw was leading the patrol since she was only an apprentice but he assumed that she was eager to go so Crowpaw followed as well.

Quailpaw grinned at her dad, deliberately ignoring Kindlepaw as she followed Gustpaw. "Where we going?" she inquired.

Jaypaw gave Smoekepelt a smile as he joined them, concluding their patrol with the arrival of a warrior. "Hey, I'm Jaypaw." she smiled shyly as she tried to greet who seemed like the eldest of them, Crowpaw. The tail-less she-cat was embarassed by her lackness and tried to stay as back as the tomcat would not look.

Looking to the group of apprentices, Smokepelt led them out of the camp and onto the moor. "Well, how about we quickly patrol the Thunderpath border and then get some hunting done?" he meowed to Quailpaw with a smile. "With a patrol this size, I'm sure that we'll bring back a good amount of prey for the clan," the deputy chuckled.

Staying near the back of the group, the apprentice was having second thoughts about coming on the patrol. It was so much that her father bugged her, but being around her sister's and other apprentice's was starting to make her fur stand on end from anger. Then again... she shouldn't have been allowing Quailpaw to get on her nerves, since after all, the younger she-cat had only been doing what she thought was right, so how could she blame her?

Trotting past the patrol with her head and tail held high, Kindlepaw made her way to the front of the group, keeping her ears perked so she could hear what her father was saying.

Smiling at Quailpaw, she got overexcited and ran forward."Well, come on! Let's go, slowpokes! Bet you can't keep up with me!" Yelping excitedly, she turned back to see who would follow behind her, hoping her sister Quailpaw would chase her until they got where they needed to be.

Grinning, Quailpaw raced off behind her sister, letting out a joyful and competitive yowl. WindClan cats were the fastest in the forest, and Quailpaw had all her father's speed and more. Muscles rippling, her legs churned at first as she focused on catching up with Gustpaw. Her short, hurried pace changed smoothly to long, easy strides as she slowly pulled ahead of her sister. The wind ruffled her gray speckled fur, tail streaming after her. There was nothing so exhilarating and glorious as a race, and Quailpaw reveled in it. She was a few tail-lengths in front of her younger sister when they reached the Thunderpath. Sliding to an abrupt halt at the sight of the strange black ground, she turned around and sat down, leisurely grooming a paw. "I win," she purred with a laugh after steadying her breathing. It felt good to win, but racing was the best part.

Trotting after the apprentices who raced off, Smokepelt finally caught up to them. "Don't get too close!" the deputy meowed in a worried tone, seeing Gustpaw and Quailpaw a little to close to the Thunderpath for his liking. "Monster's can take a cat's life before you'd be able to blink," he added, remembering what happened to his father. He would never forgive himself if his kits ended up with the same fate as Icestorm and quickly shook away the thought, not wanting to dwell on something so depressing. "But, at least now you know what it looks like."
