A patrol for two ((CLOSED))

Tinylegs padded out of the warrior's den and gave a yawn as he made his way to the center of camp, waiting for more cats to wake up. It was his job to help with patrols, and after everything that had been going on, he hadn't been getting much sleep and thought it might nice to go on a morning patrol. Sitting down, the small cat waited for the early birds of SkyClan, and in the meantime he groomed his mangled white coat.

Addergaze emerged from the Warriors den with a low, incoherent curse, her amber eyes laden with sleep and irritation, and thick fur rumpled as usual. Sharing a nest with Eagleheart seemed like a good idea at first during the cold Leafbare nights, but now that the frigid nights had become rather warm and humid, they often ended up in uncomfortable tangles that resulted in kicking and shoving. Due to the mentioned kicking and shoving, she often went to sleep incredibly late and arose before the sun did, although today it was different as Tinylegs seemed to be up as well.

Padding up to Tinylegs, she dropped down beside the small warrior and gave an unflattering yawn, lifting a hindleg to scratch as the thick, tangled fur around her ears. Sleepily scratching her ear, her eyes drifted shut once more and she managed to mumble out, "Couldn't sleep either or are ya just raring to go this morning?", lazily opening one eye to steal a glance at her former mentor.

Turning his head to Addergaze who looked pretty tired, the small tom couldn't help but smile, seeing his apprentice all grown up and independent. "Hm, I guess both," he chuckled, flexing his claws against the earth. It was always nice to have the company of a cat who wasn't related to family or Rippedsky.

Forcing himself to stand up, he knew that they shouldn't waste any more time lying around the camp, although that idea did sound pretty peaceful. "Ready to go?" the warrior asked, flicking his tail towards the entrance. Turning around, he headed out of the camp and into the lightly wooded forest, ready to patrol.

Padding through the territory, Tinylegs and Addergaze made their way towards the RiverClan border and after a few moments of silence, he couldn't help but ask his former apprentice a question that had been on his mind for a while. "Mind me asking, but... how do you feel about this whole Rippedsky thing?" the little tom mewed softly, looking up to the she-cat.

"He and I ain't close, but he's never done anything to personally wrong me." Addergaze mewed, glancing down at Tinylegs as they continued their brisk patrol. As of late, Rippedsky had become an even bigger conversation topic- every cat from here to the highstones had heard of the young warrior. 'I'd rather let a Twoleg pet me than suffer being the sole focus of such a heated debate like he is!' She reflected, an inward shuddering running through her spine. "But who knows, maybe his insight will give us the upper paw whenever we have to clash with Windclan." She added, kicking a few stray stones out of her path as they began to close the distance between them and the RiverClan border, the faint gurgling of the river filling her ears.

Listening to the she-cat, Tinyleg gave a small nod in acknowledgement to her reply. "Yes, maybe so," was all the small tom mewed as they neared the river. Now being able to hear the soft yet audible sound of rushing water helped him relax, seeing that once they started patrolling the border they probably wouldn't have to talk much and hopefully it would take his mind off everything, even if only momentarily.

Reaching the RiverClan border, Tinylegs padded a little ways away from Addergaze and marked the border in a few spots, glad that nothing strange was happening around these parts. Hopefully things will stay this way for a little while. When he finished his job, the short, white tom made his way back over to where he'd left the she-cat and waited for her to return from marking another section of the border.

Addergaze flicked her ear at Tinylegs short reply before veering off in the opposite direction to mark the other end of the border, thick tail swaying lazily behind her. Crossing a small narrow gully, she quickly marked along a scraggly, prickly shrub, amber eyes peering intently into RiverClan territory all the while. Trotting back towards Tinylegs, she knocked a few more stray stones from her path as she halted beside the smaller warrior. "Where to next?" Addergaze finally questioned, looking down at Tinylegs questioningly- everything had been so peaceful that they had finished with some time to spare.

Looking to Addergaze, he didn't really know where else that they needed to go, seeing that an earlier patrol had already checked Highpine. Well, it wasn't like he wanted to go there anyway, so thank StarClan that they wouldn't need to head in that direction. After a few moments of thinking in silence, the small tom finally spoke. "Well, I heard that a patrol just recently marked the Highpine border and so I don't see any use checking it out again so soon, so why don't we head back to camp?" he asked, hoping that he wasn't cutting the patrol too short.
