As clear As Mist [Open]

Blacktwig's tail lashed playfully and challengingly - in a fun way, of course. He grinned, and chased after his mother with long, powerful strides. She was like a scorched cloud in the centre of a snowy field - impeccable, but not perfect to Blacktwig. To him, Mistywater was a perfect cloud in the swath of pure ones. A modicum of light. Despite her age, she was still as energetic as ever. He pounced onto her, keeping his weight mostly off of her. He didn't want to injure Mistywater.

Mistywater smiled "Your still as strong as the day I had you" she purred. She pawed at Blacktwig, trying to knock him off, she had failed. Trying again she did and leaped up on top of him "But maybe a little older" she laughed, her ears twitching. She felt her heart begin to warm. She was feeling part of a family again, it felt nice and protective. She loved her son with all her heart. He was the oldest, a great leader, and some cat to look up to. This is what she wanted, she wanted to have a strong family. She hadn't finished her second goal though.

Blacktwig skipped along, feeling freedom in his heart. His violet-blue eyes twinkled as his mother batted his head, and he crouched down with a giggle. He pawed upwards, hitting his mother's chin lightly and spraying a bit of snow that stuck to his pads onto her fur. "I'm still a kit inside, ya know!" Blacktwig quipped humorously.

Mistywater smiled and began to laugh a bit harder. She looked at Blacktwig "Yeah, seems like it...Blackkit" she purred as her eyes brightened and suddenly she felt so light. So light that nothing was there, just Blacktwig and her, just them.

Blacktwig minimized himself, so that he looked like a little kit. He twisted and turned along in the snow, eyes gleaming. "I hope you enjoy taking care of me!" Blacktwig chirped, as the sun rifted down from its source and onto the two cats' pelts. He giggled as he pranced along, with each jump kicking up snow.

Mistywater tried to run as fast as she could to catch up to Blacktwig. She was getting a little tired but that didn't stop her. She pawed at Blacktwig, suddenly jumping up and tackling him with a laugh.

Blacktwig matched Mistywater's leaping stride with one of his own, and they looked like a silver-and-black spray of scalded water. He batted her forehead with an outstretched, front paw, grinning like a fool. But he didn't mind; he hadn't had such fun since Mothstrike's dismaying passing. He could barely remember it now that he was having a superfluity—an overabundance, if you will—of fun.

Mistywater smiled and rolled over into the grass that was covered over by the broken snow her body of fur had landed on "I think were having too much fun" she mewed with a purr.

"There's no such thing as too much fun," purred Blacktwig, hopping high into the air and spiralling snow with him. It looked like a vortex of blank powder, resembling flour. He dropped back to the ground, and smiled at Mistywater.

Mistywater smiled, her ear twitched "Well I do think you have made by pelt a little bit of a different color!" she purred. She looked at her fur and lifted up her paw as snow dropped down from her covered gray-and-black mixed fur.

"Oh," laughed Blacktwig. "You might as well be a cloud!" His eyes fixed fondly on Mistywater, and a lively grin spread across his face. It still had the same cheekbones as when he was a kit, and his structure differentiated only slightly as he had grown.

Mistywater laughed "I do look like one don't I?" she purred as she shook off a bit of the snow from her mixed pelt. Today reminded her of how she had grown up and when she was raising Blacktwig, she loved these moments. She treasured these moments as well, not only because of how special, but because this is living, living is good.

Blacktwig trotted around, tail waving. "You do indeed," he twitted jocularly. He hopped onto a branch, and tried pushing himself up with the air as his roost. He failed, and fell to the ground, leaving an awkward cutout of himself in the snow. Fortunately, he leapt up, smiling. "Catch me if you can!" called Blacktwig, racing about. Mistywater was much more fun than many mothers, in his opinion, and she meant a lot to him.

Mistywater smiled and began to chase after Blacktwig, her whiskers fell behind her face as she ran for him, she was so happy. You could tell from her eyes and her smile that she was clearly having the best time of her life, though the one cat she hadn't seen in what seemed like forever was Swiftheart. He was the best and her greatest mate she would ever have.

Blacktwig laughed, as he leapt through the snow, whirling around and booping his mother lightly on the nose. He gave a satisfied giggle and fell back in the snow. He felt just like a kit... and he remembered when he was. With his siblings, just wriggling by Mistywater's belly... it seemed like it had been forever since then.
