Do You Suggest We Eat Grass? [OPEN HUNTING PATROL]

Blacktwig's ears pricked up, when he smelled fresh lapwing in the bushes. He looked at Pinewhisker, Emberheart, and Blizzardshine, but his gaze was somewhat cold. Although warmth flared up in the blacks of his eyes, his tail lashed. "This is a hunting patrol," he sniffed, "not a moping patrol." Blacktwig immediately regretted what he had spoken, but it was so quiet that barely anyone could hear him. "Right?" added Blacktwig hopefully, to make it seem like his comment was not as harsh.

He barely left Sheepnose's side, however, and he put little effort into his jump as he sprang, claws outstretched. He unleashed all of his effort when claws met feathers, however, and almost snagged. He missed, due to utter carelessness, and stalked away. He rejoined Sheepnose, and continued walking forwards until he would spot another creature.

Pinewhisker almost laughed, but he kept his cool,at Blacktwig's words and gave him a grateful glance. At least that was a window for him to get away from the heavy mood.  He nodded respectfully to Blizzardshine as he left her side, and passed the tip of his tail over Emberheart's back, noticing to anxious look on her face. It's alright. he tried to say through his green eyes. He passed Sheepnose a dry glance, startled, most likely. With her white pept,mhe was popping out of nowhere in the snowy weather.

The warriod decided soon on a scent that filled his chest sweetly. When he was close enough, he pounced on it with outstretched claws. He heard the annoyed hoot of something, and he leapt back from whatever that was, but luckily it seemed as little inclined for battle as the warrior himself. It took of with flutter of it's wings, and the tomcat sighted.

Blacktwig noticed the flash of amusement in the tomcat's dim, green eyes, and he waved as they seemed to whisper, 'I was confused for a moment - thank you.' Blacktwig nodded, and dismissed Pinewhisker's unsuccessful catch; after all, it was an owl, anyways. It seemed to reverse dive out of the bushes it disguised itself, and into the sky agitatedly.

Blizzardshine tried to keep at least a glint of the original calm and happy feeling the patrol had, though by the looks of it she wasn’t being exactly good at it and she wouldn’t be able to do so without a possible fight. This wasn’t something the deputy felt exactly comfortable with, and not knowing what was actually going on only make her feel a bit worse, as she had no idea of what she was supposed to say or do in this situation.

Her attention immediately was forced out of her train of thought and fell on Pinewhisker as his voice reached her ears. She looked at him for a couple of seconds with a gentle and comforting gaze “I must admit I don’t really know as well, so you may need to explain me what’s going on here. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, though” Her voice was merely a whisper, as she didn’t want to force Pinewhisker into a compromised position if any of the cats with them heard her words.

Sheepnose glanced over at Pinewhisker, meeting the dry glance with an icy stare of her own. The white she-cat tried her best to focus on the sounds of prey and the scent of prey. And it was relieving when she could finally determine where one was. The white color of her fluffy pelt would help her blend in with the snow, and considering that she had to be silent while hunting, the prey would just consider her a lump of snow. The little mouse scuffling around in the snow had no idea that she was even there, and she lifted her paws and set them down gently so there wouldn't be any loud crunching, and when the time finally came, she bunched her hind muscles, then leaped.

Claws unsheathed, she landed on the mouse, trapping it in her claws, and killing it with a nip to the neck. Her blue eyes were glowing as she picked up her catch in her jaws, looking over at Pinewhisker with a smug expression on her face, then quickly wiped it clean and replaced it with a neutral face. She then fell back into step with Blacktwig. This would be a long patrol if the negativity continued like this.

Now Blacktwig was worried, but he tried not to let it show through as he padded onwards. The smug look that Sheepnose wore was definitely a no-nonsense glare, and it was quite frightening if you weren't the fluffy she-cat's brother.

Taking a deep breath and trying to not let the tension of the moment get to her head, Blizzardshine scented the air carefully, walking a couple of tail-lengths away from the rest of the patrol to not interrupt their own hunting as she looked around for a prey of her own. Yet her eyes were constantly moving on their direction to know if any of them wanted to talk with her.

The soft steps of a wandering squirrel soon caught her attention, the wind revealing it's location. Without hessitation, she got into a hunter's crouch and started to get closer to the smaller creature.

The tomcat shook his head with a tired expression. She is always so fired up, dear StarClan... he meowed, not giving Sheepnose the satisfaction of having her hunting success noticed. The warrior instead pushed past her with a cold expression and was soon creeping after the scent trail of a squirell . Pinewhisker pounced on the piece of prey with a smile, hoping he would not return with no catch again. But again, frustration got the best of his as the ginger creature spotted his chocolate brown pelt and escaped his attack fast. The tomcat murmured an intelligible curse upon his fur colour that stood out badly in leaf-bare and joined his mate, Emberheat, wondering whether she was going to try her luck soon.
