Shallowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Tawnystorm jumped up onto the branch. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!" she hollered.

Shallowkit hurriedly padded from the nursery; a series of brief illnesses had kept him from becoming an apprentice with his sisters, but it was finally his turn. Padding towards Tawnystorm eagerly, the young tom's chest was puffed and his eyes glowed with pride. Settling beneath the Willow Tree, Shallowkit eagerly directed his attention towards Tawnystorm and the small crowd of cats.

One the kit had arrived, Tawnystorm wasted mo time getting things moving. "Shallowkit, please step forward," she called.

Tilting his chin upwards, Shallowkit quickly swaggered forward, his whiskers twitching in anticipation- it was finally his turn! His chest felt tight with anticipation and his little paws shuffled eagerly as he waited for Tawnystorm to speak once more.

"You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed." Tawnystorm began. "From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shallowpaw. I shall mentor you, and I hope I can we pass down all I know onto you," she finished, and jumped down from the branch to greet her new apprentice.
