Patrol (Open)

Falconstone had been assigned a patrol of the RiverClan border. He was unsure all who else was assigned to his group, so at sunhigh the WindClan warrior waited at the camp entrance.

OoC: Let's make this a quick one people

OOC: ThunderClan doesn’t share a border with WindClan…

Nightheart padded towards Falconstone, greeting him with a polite nod and weak smile. She hoped this would be enough to keep her mind busy for some time “Border patrol as well?”.

Falconstone nodded. "I believe we have one more cat joining us."

Brindlewhisker hurried towards Falconestone and Nightheart, eager to get out of camp for the first time today. "Room for one more?" She questioned the two cats, tail flicking as she awaited their answer.

Falconstone nodded, standing and stretching his long legs. "Yup! Let's head out you two." The warrior smiled, his old charm returning with his heart filled with love for his new family. "Just a quick patrol, border markings. All that and such." the warrior took off at a brisk pace, trotting slightly.

Brindlewhisker twitched her ear in agreement to Falconstone's words, slightly relieved that it was nothing more than a simple patrol; lately it seemed that all anyone wanted to do was cause trouble. Padding after the tom, she looked over the cold, lifeless snow-speckled moor with unimpressed eyes. "Hopefully this weather will finally let up soon. It's awful having to patrol with the weather we've been having lately." She mewed, glancing over at Falconstone and Nightheart as she spoke.

Nightheart looked at the white snow that contrasted heavily against her dark colors. Hunting in the moors had become somewhat hard for her thanks to it and she was glad that this wasn’t a hunting patrol. Then again, the tension between RiverClan and WindClan didn’t guaranteed a peaceful patrol and she just hoped to not have to fight them at this point yet again.

“As long s there is enough prey to keep the can fed…” She was tempted to add and enough herbs to keep it healthy, but after all the battles that would be a foolish wish, as they were struggling to find enough herbs to keep the cats healthy during these harsh cold times at all “We probably should avoid trouble…the medicine cats already have enough work to have to tend to unnecessary wounds”.

"Yes, Falconstone agreed. "That huge battle was bad enough." As they neared the border, Falconstone went ahead and marked a spot.

Nightheart followed Falconstone’s lead and padded closer to the gorge that made the border between the two clans. Many would think that it would be unnecessary to mark these borders, but the previous battles were enough proof of how easily these could be crossed even with the deadly crack in the earth that separated them. She looked over the gorge, relieved to not see RierClan cats and hoping it would stay that way until they were done.

Brindlewhisker hurried after the two older warriors, tail flicking in a silent agreement towards Falconstone and Nightheart's words- it seemed that they could hardly keep up with the various wounds on their clanmates. Padding up to the jagged edge in the earth, she peered curiously over the edge, observing the gushing, violent water below with a slight shudder- she had heard stories of countless cats falling in and it always frightened her to think that you could simply plummet over the edge and vanish within the churning water. Looking back at Nightheart and Falconstone, she felt a little awkward breaking the silence between the trio. "Do we need to check anything else?" Brindlewhisker questioned, addressing both cats.
