Fawns Making It Through The Breeze [[Open Birth Topic]]

Fawnsplash layed in the nursery, curled tightly around two small bundles of fur. The first a dark grey tabby she-cat, which she had decided on Smokekit as a name for her, and a calico she-cat, which she named Featherkit. Smokekit looked a lot like her father, though maybe a bit darker, and Featherkit took a little more after herself with almost the same colors. She looked down at then, a loving smile growing on her lips, "Hello little ones.. Welcome to SkyClan.." She meowed softly to them, her voice soothing. This being her third litter of kits, it seemed to her that it got a little bit easier and a little less nerve wracking with each one. Obviously she was still nervous and it was definitely still tiring, but just not as much as the first time. She had called for Breezewhisker just moments before they were born and knew any minute he would probably be bursting through the nursery entrance. She shook her head, laughing slightly, as the image popped into her head. He was a great tom and she thanked StarClan everyday for giving her a mate that she knew, without a doubt, that he loved her and their kits, even the ones that weren't biologically his.

FeatherKit opened her soft aqua green eyes. She blinked rapidly trying to get used to the nursery's lighting. Just having been born, her vision was hazy and opaque. She looked around slowly trying to make sense of everything currently in her field of view. She started to writhe around uncomfortably, her tiny tail swaying around. The tiny she-cat looked up seeing a blurry figure. She mewled softly wanting to gain the attention of the protective queen above her.

The second Smokekit could get a feel for her legs, she started crawling. It felt so good to be able to walk that she just continued, unsure of where she was going. She bumped into something fuzzy and warm. It felt good so she just snuggled closer, purring contently. Something buzzed in her ear, but her newly born senses were not able to pick up things so well.

Breezewhisker heard his mate's voice and his ears perked up. He stumbled clumsily, but quickly, across camp to the nursery, but slid on a patch of ice. Face burning, he swiftly got up and ran- albeit more carefully- to Fawnsplash. He sat down by her, looking in awe at his new kits. He licked Smokekit's fur into place, purring all the while. He touched his nose to Fawnsplash's lovingly. His family was what kept him alive. He would make sure to be a better father than Crowstar had been to him.
