A Patrol [closed]

Standing near the entrance, Mudfoot waited for some apprentices or maybe a warrior or two to join him on a patrol. With all the tension between the clans, he wanted to make sure to check the borders, even if everything was covered in snow.

Padding up to her mentor, Blazepaw sat beside Mudfoot with a bit of fresh kill that she had just picked up from the pile."Hello, Mudfoot. Going on a patrol?" Eating her small, scrawny mouse, she looked up at Mudfoot once again, wanting to stretch her legs. They had been getting stiff, she needed more exercise."Maybe today I can get my assessment?" With a questioning tone, Blazepaw looked over to a bramble bush, and prepared her mind for a good patrol. I wonder if anyone else will come.

Dipping his head to Blazepaw, Mudfoot gave his pelt a shake. "Yes, I was just about to leave," the tom meowed with a smile and turned towards the camp entrance, flicking his tail for her to follow. He would have waited for more cats to join but the night was only going to get colder the longer they waited, so it was best to start early. Looking to his apprentice when she mentioned her assessment, he remembered that she was almost ready to become a warrior. "I think we can arrange that," he added as they made their way into the dense wooded forest.

Rosepaw had slept in! She totally forgot about the patrol that she had agreed to go on. She raced out of the apprentice den looking for the patrol members although she could see no one. She figured that they already went off ahead. However since she could run really fast she figured that she would be able to catch up, sprinting forward she dashed after the scent of Mudfoot and another cat when she saw them she yowled at them. "Heyyyy!"

Hearing some pawsteps come from behind, Mudfoot turned around to see Rosepaw. "Hello Rosepaw," the tom meowed with a smile, glad to have another cat on their patrol. "We're heading to the Highpine and then we'll do some hunting," he added, his paws crunching through the snow.

"Hello!" She greeted Mudfoot and Blazepaw as Mudfoot leaded the way Rosepaw stayed back a little and chatted with Blazepaw a fellow apprentice who's company she enjoyed. "Im doing fine and you?" She purred before noticing that Mudfoot got a little far ahead. "Oh better hurry he might be annoyed at how slow were going." She trotted up next to Mudfoot's side.

With both apprentices now next to him, Mudfoot purred, glad he was able to go on patrols with such eager young cats. "So, after we patrol Highpine, I know Blazepaw is in need of her assessment so we'll do that. Rosepaw, feel free to hunt while I assess her, the clan could use any prey that isn't frozen," the tom chuckled as the small patrol reached Highpine. Giving a nod to the apprentices, the tom padded a little ways away from them and marked the border, keeping his ears perked for anything out of the ordinary.

Rosepaw wanted to make sure that there were no skyclan cats near their border! The ginger she-cat's ears perked and was alerted for any other movement that wasn't their own. Thankfully she didn't sense any other cat's so she marked the border. "All good over here!" She mewed and then decided to follow a scent of a mouse.

Looking to Blazepaw, Mudfoot had to think for a moment before deciding on what she should do. "I want you to catch four frogs. I'll be observing you but don't worry about me," he meowed with a smile and waited for the apprentice to get started.

OOC: since this is an assessment, Blazepaw needs to use the Hunting System. Crys, Rosepaw does NOT need to use the hunting system since she is not being assessed. Just thought I'd tell ya 'cause if you both use the system things gonna get confusing and for Rosepaw, it's not needed anyway.
