When Ospreys leave the nest[open]

Ospreykit bounded out of the nursery,his blue eyes shone and his head was raised high.He looked around himself in awe.Camp is so big!Look at everywhere I can go!I can't believe I snuck past Fogheart,but it was worth it!The mottled tom bounded off.His ears were perked and he was constantly testing the air.Everything was so new to Ospreykit and he seemed to shake with excitement.He looked back at the nursery with a pang of guilt but quickly bounded off to explore.It wasn't long before he was face first in the freezing snow.

Shinnykit was out of the nursery for the first time in her life. The daring she-cat smiled as she bounced out of the nursery. She waved her tai to Ospreykit, grinning, inviting him to play. "Hey, Ospreykit! Do you want to play?"

Morningfog purred loudly, watching as her kit ventured out, she'd let her have her fun and carried her vole back into the nursery. She flicked her tail over her kit's back as she passed by and gave her a loving look as the small thing bounced out of the warm nursery.

Ospreykit turned around ,almost slipping on some ice."Uh,sure!What do you want to play,Shinnykit?"he meowed.The young tom bounded up to her side rather clumsily but still manage to keep his valence,surprisingly.Ospreykit had none of the grace of the bird he was name after.

Ospreykit caught her look and let out a laugh."You're on!"he mewed playfully.The little tom bundled himself up into a make shift crouch.

And the warrior they were focused on was just Shinnykit's father, Smokeface. He was resting in his favourite reed cump, pondering and daydreaming. In their makeshift crouches, the kits approached loudly snd when sne was close enough, Shinnykit leapt and landed on her father's back. He suppressed a giggle and tried to look surprised.

"I got you!"

"Oh no.... what will the helpless Smokeeface do against the strenght of mighty Shinnystar and her deputy, fierce Osprey?"

Ospreykit followed Shinnykit's lead.He focosed on Smokeface his eyes narrowing in concentration before springing on the unsuspecting warrior."Yearrrgghhh!"he yowled as he landed."The feirce Ospreyfeather.The greatest warrior ever!"Ospreykit laughed and then began to claw at Smokeface's belly.

Shinnykit stopped and gasped, indignated. "But I am the greatest warrior! Thee can only be one great warrior! Yeeeeaaarghh!" she yowled as she leapts off her fathers back and tumbled over her playmate kicking around with her paws. Smokeface smiled warmly, glad that the assault on himself was over.

(I am so happy Smokeface isn't actually related to Fogheart. This would've been really awkward. Cause he's kinda her uncle?)

Ospreykit laughed at his playmates annoyance."Well,then prove it!"he yowled as he batted her away."You're no match for the mighty Ospreyfeather!"Ospreykit laughed as Shinnykit barraided her with kicks"arrgh"

Shinnykit took up the challenge and rammed herself at full force into Ospreykit, grinning. "GRAAAA! I am Smokepelt the Vicious, and I will break you into pieces!" she yowled, imitating her mother when she told her that story of Frogjaw. Smokeface stared a bit at his daughter before goving a feeble laugh. Kit-play could be so innocent, going through it's subjects.

Ospreykit's eyes widened in fear and he let out a small squeak.The tom turned to run off but she smashed into his side."arrgh!I will get you back Smokepelt!"he yowled.The tom was back on his paws again and already poised ready to attack.He stared at her before launching himself at her,paws outstretched."Don't you ever threaten RiverClan again or we'll march straight up to your filthy WindClan and give you a piece of our mind!"he growled playfully.

Shinnykit, excited by the new opportunity to play, grinned devilishly at Ospreykit, ready to spring into action "If you set another paw in our territory, I'll march straight to mommy and tell her!" she immitated Smokepelt in a moany voice, trying to look as dramatic and pathetic as possible.

Ospreykit snorted."Yeah,go tell your mommy!Because when Shinnystar finds out she'll make you both pay for hurting RiverClan.Now begone Smokepelt,you mousebrained foxhearts!"he mewed taking a pawstep towards Shinnykit.A devilish grin spread across the toms face.

Tawnystorm chuckled slightly as she emerged from behind the nursery. Seeing kits play was nothing worth noting, but Smokeface? His own daughter and he little friends besieging him had been a sight to watch. "I remember when mine were like this, heh," she commented. "Granted, it wasn't a long time ago, especially with Aspenpaw! I remember when you were a kit, Smokeface. Oh StarClan, I feel old!" she laughed, glancing towards the tom. She'd been caught in an unusually good mood today, it had seemed.
But what she'd just said had made her think. The warrior was older than much of the other warriors, rivalled only by Fogheart. She didn't mind, and in fact enjoyed her seniority. And even then, she wasn't hindered in the slightest by it. She'd been fitter and stronger than ever before, a force to be reckoned with. Pssh, she knew she wasn't really that old - just experienced.
