Spikey Amber [closed]

Thistleblaze sat at the entrance of camp. While she didn't have an apprentice anymore she was taking another apprentice on a patrol to the Thunderclan border. While she hated Windclan more than Thunderclan at the moment she still didn't like the under brush cowards. She left her leftover kits with another queen so that way she could get out and stretch her legs as well as do this patrol. She was happy to get out and do something.

Amberpaw stepped from the apprentice den with a soft purr as the sunlight hit her long pelt - warming it ever so slightly despite the chilly air that hung around. She had quickly accepted when Thistleblaze had offered to take her on a patrol - Fishstar always seemed so busy and Amberpaw longed to explore the territory a bit more and see the borders. She spotted the softy gray queen at the entrance and quickly hurried over to her with a smile. "Good morning, Thistleblaze!" she greeted with a purr.

"Good morning Amberpaw." The queen said to the apprentice before standing up on her three functioning paws. "Are you ready to go?" She wanted to make sure first, she didn't want the apprentice getting tired or some other thing while out on the patrol.

Amberpaw smiled at the queen as she dipped her head in a small nod. "Yes, Thistleblaze! Ready to set off," she said, her gaze shifting slightly to the side as she glanced at the territory. It was always a joy to go on a patrol and it was an honor that Thistleblaze had offered to take her out on one.

Thistleblaze nodded slightly. "Good, let's get going then." The warrior said turned and heading out of the entrance of the camp, and out into the territory heading to the edge of the territory where it met with Thunderclan. Her formerly broken paw barely touching the ground, while her other three carried her just as effectively as four did for anyone else. "You have been over to the thunderclan border before correct?"

Amberpaw happily trotted after the queen, watching in amazement how smoothly she walked while balanced on only three paws. Amberpaw was unsure if she could ever balance like that and was left in awe of Thistleblaze ass he followed the older she-cat. Her ears perked when she spoke up, quickly nodding. "A few times, yes. Most of the time I've been at the Sunningrocks but I have walked the border once or twice."

"It's good that you have experience with being over there then. We are checking the border to make sure it wasn't moved or anything like that. While we may have issues with Windclan at the moment we can't ignore Thunderclan." Thistleblaze said to the apprentice. It would only take a little longer to reach the border, and when they did then it would be sort of serious business.

Checking the ThunderClan borders, huh? It seemed easy enough - nice and simple. Amberpaw was relieved that they weren't going to check the WindClan border as she feared what would happen if two patrols met with the rising tension. She also agreed with Thistleblaze's logic. If they were nearly at war with WindClan, they couldn't dare leave ThunderClan unchecked. If ThunderClan made a move for more territory or anything fishy like that, it would be horrible for them to be taken by surprise and weakened in any way. "Of course, Thistleblaze," she said with a nod as they drew closer to the border.

Once they had arrived the border, Thistleblaze started checking around, looking for any signs of a change or that someone had crossed the border. While that was rare she still looked. "If you find something tell me." The warrior told Amberpaw. The biggest risk area would be Sunning Rocks. That part of their territory didn't have the river protecting it.

Ah, the border. Amberpaw glanced at the river that separated RiverClan from ThunderClan. She knew that Leaf bare was when RiverClan was at its most vulnerable with the river freezing over allowing the other Clans to reach their territory without having to wade into the water itself. Her gaze flickered over to the queen as Thistleblaze started to check around, nodding as she turned to do the same. Tasting the air, she drew away as she headed away from Thistleblaze to check more of the border while staying in hearing range. Her amber eyes scanned around, doing her best to take notice of anything that seemed out of place but didn't see anything. Seemed like ThunderClan was respecting the border.

Thistleblaze seems to find the same thing as Amberpaw did. Nothing was changed, nothing seemed out of place. No scents crossing the border, nothing about the border being moved. Thistleblaze paused waiting on Amberpaw to rejoin her from their task that they had down. They wold be looking over Sunning Rocks next. "Did you find anything?" She asked the apprentice.

Happy with finding no trace of ThunderClan, she quickly turned to head back to Thistleblaze. As she reached her, she shook her head with a flicker of her tail. "No, didn't catch a whiff of them on our side," she said as she glanced over the river. If she ever caught a ThunderClanner crossing the border, she would teach them quickly that RiverClan wasn't to be trifled with.

Thistleblaze nodded, satisfied that nothing was found. "Come on we have to go check Sunning Rocks now. That is the area I'm worried about the most." The warrior flicked her tail lightly before following the border down to the crossing where they would get over to sunning rocks. She paused at the water's edge for just a moment before wading her way into it and crossing over to the rocks waiting for Amberpaw to do the same.
