Shattered Petals (CLOSED)

Shatteredpaw wandered aimlessly around the RiverClan camp, he was bored out of his mind. Most of the apprentice duties had been covered, and he hadn't a clue where Otterleap was, if his mentor was around the two could at least head out for hunting and training. He huffed as he stopped walking, and sat down. Then, a creamy colored she-cat caught in the corner of his eye, he swiveled his head slightly, getting a full view of the female. she's rather pretty... He thought, and in a moments thought decided to approach her.

He got up and neared her quickly, not realizing he was walking pretty fast. He stopped in front of her, noting that she was sizable smaller than him. "Hello!" He beamed, smiling. "I'm Shatteredpaw," he introduced himself.

Sitting down near the edge of camp, Petalpaw had been watching a tom wander around the camp clearing for some time now. She had no clue what he was doing or his reason for doing it. The cream colored tabby recognized her fellow apprentice as Shatteredpaw, although she'd been friendly towards him, they had never really spoken. Closing her eyes and enjoying the sun, a few moments passed before she heard the sound of pawsteps getting closer. Opening her eyes, she was a little taken aback by the fact that he had just appeared in front of her but her face still held a smile.

"H-hello," she meowed calmly yet cheerfully. "I'm Petalpaw. I know who you are, but I don't we've ever really spoken before," the apprentice added, hoping she didn't sound too shy or rude.

Shatteredpaw flicked his tail, still holding a small, hardly noticeable smile. She looked taken aback by his presence at first, but was glad to see her lighten up. "Well, we can start speaking now." He replied, a playful glint to his eyes. "You know, we should train together sometime, whenever that is." The young tom suggested, coming up with some sort of excuse to get time with her.

Letting out a small laugh at his little joke, Petalpaw was glad to have clanmates like him. Cats who were funny and kind, that's what she liked in a personality. "Well, I'd be glad to patrol with you more, but unfortunately we can't go out alone," she meowed, flicking her tail back and forth. Of course they could go patrolling on their own, but if they did, they'd most likely get caught and she wouldn't want to make her clanmates not trust her, that'd be so horrible!

Shatteredpaw shrugged, "I mean, we could go, we would just have to make sure we don't get caught." He suggested, a playful tone to his voice. He liked Petalpaw, and knew her as the kind of cat that wouldn't break the code, or any other rules for that matter. He didn't really expect her to want to sneak out of camp with him without a warrior.

Listening to Shatteredpaw, a twinge of excitement bubbled through her veins. Leave the camp without a warrior? It was a crazy notion, but a fun one at best. "Let's go!" she meowed excitedly, trying to keep her voice a bit soft just in case any warriors were lurking about. She'd never done anything of the sorts and maybe it wouldn't be as bad as it sounded.

OOC: Were we gonna have Tawny catch them later? Cause idc if they get caught or nah.

Shatteredpaw smiled, that was easier than I thought, he noted. "Great!" He exclaimed softly, then lowered his head slightly, and scanned the surrounding camp for any cat that would see them leave. "Follow me," he hissed, keeping a low voice. They would have to be quick and quite if they wanted to get out of camp without being seen.

He lead Petalpaw alongside the edge of the camp, and before ducking down to swim across the river, and checked over his shoulder to make sure the she-cat was close by.

Giving him a nod, Petalpaw followed the tom to the edge of camp and gracefully slipped into the water. It sent shivers up her spine from the sudden cold but she shook it off. The two cats soon made it across the river and Petalpaw walked up the shore, giving her pelt a shake and flicking her feet to rid her of the water. She'd never left the camp without a warrior and she had to admit, this feeling of nervousness yet adrenaline felt wonderful and horrible at the same time. "So, uh, now what?" she meowed, looking behind her just in case someone had followed them.

Shatteredpaw looked at her, a small grin creeping up the side of his short muzzle. "We explore! We don't have a warrior to hold us back, so, we can do as we please." He told her, his own excitement rolling off his tongue.

Giggling with excitement, Petalpaw continued to follow Shatteredpaw, it was so exciting to be out of camp alone, but now that they walked further into the territory, she wondered what they should do. They had unlimited freedom, but what exactly were they supposed to do with that freedom? "What do you want to do then?" the apprentice asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

OOC: btw, I know we said we were gonna have tawny join this, but maybe they don't get caught? cause then it'd go faster C':

Shatteredpaw paused, what were they going to do? He looked over his shoulder, getting a glimpse at her. "Well, if we were on a patrol, the warriors wouldn't let us just explore... So maybe we could just do that?" He had to admit, they hadn't come out here with any plan.

Nodding, Petalpaw looked around. Where to start... "Why don't we explore the gorge?" she meowed and started padding towards the direction of their destination. It was a bit dangerous, considering the rappid water and WindClan, but she'd never gotten a good look at it while warriors were around. After a few moments, the two of them reached the gorge and by now, Petalpaw was about to burst with excitment. "Wow!" she gasped, creeping towards the edge and peering over it. What a sight!

Shatteredpaw nodded, agreeing that the gorge would be a good stop. He hadn't been to it yet, so he was excited to get a look at it. He kept close to Petalpaw as they closed in on the drop off, and soon the rushing sounds of the rapid currents below could be heard. He noticed Petalpaw creeping near the edge of it, "careful!" He called over the loud crashing of water against rock.

Flicking her tail in acknowledgement that she heard Shatteredpaw's warning, she continued to peer down the gorge, mesmerized by the rushing water. It sent shivers down her spine thinking about how fast the water was rushing. Stepping back, Petalpaw looked to the other apprentice. "So dangerous yet so beautiful," she meowed with a smile.

Shatteredpaw smiled in return, "it sure is." At this point, the apprentice had joined Petalpaw at the edges of the cliff, and had been staring down at the depths below. He stepped back just as his friend had done.
