Sleekkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardshine took a deep breath as she leaped onto the Highrock. Darkstar had fallen severely ill not long after Frozenflame retired to the elder’s den, leaving the clan without anyone to hold the ceremonies. After some talking she had been chosen as the one to do it for the time being, and she sincerely hoped to not upset the clan “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!” It felt so weird to say those words instead of hearing them…

Sleekkit held his tail high as he stepped across the clearing, a day where he will finally be an apprentice! He stopped beneath the high rock.

Blizzardshine looked at the gathering clan, trying to look calm when she actually felt like if she just ate a bunch of live butterflies, as soon as Sleekkit entered in her range of vision she proceeded “Sleekkit, please, step forward”.

Sleekkit stepped forward.

Taking a deep breath to giver herself the courage and feeling the clan’s eyes on her, Blizzardshine repeated the old speech she had heard Darkstar say so many times before “Sleekkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sleekpaw” Her eyes went from the apprentice to the warriors gathered under the Highrock “Your mentor will be Meadowlight. I hope she passes down all she knows on to you” With those words she dismissed the clan and jumped off the Highrock, feeling her heart beating quickly against her chest. Well…that went way better than expected.

Blacktwig who was totally here the entire time padded up to Blizzardshine with a welcoming smile. He gave her a nuzzle on the neck, and looked into her eyes respectfully. "You did such a great job!" Blacktwig exclaimed. He couldn't help the purr that was to rise up, to accompany the praise.

Mottledpaw was beside Blacktwig, smiling and nodding in turn. "Great job, Blizzardshine!" Mottledpaw said.
