Death Waits For No One {OPEN}

Lightningstrike finally made it back to camp. He had to drag Moonpaw's body through the tunnel, they would get stuck otherwise. He prepared himself for what was to come. He would probably be accused of murder since he was a Dark Forest loyalist. He would also have to see the face of Moonpaw's parents. The warrior wasn't sure if he was ready for this..

the sun was nearly up by now. Glistening dew was on the drooping leaves it was like they were sad too.
A slight breeze blew by making a howling noise.

Hazepaw padded behind Lightningstrike,head drooped.She could of saved her,why did everyone she care about seem to die,it wasn't fair.The apprentice glanced around the whole marsh seemed to know Moonpaw was dead,they seemed to be mourning too.She padded through the tunnel into camp.She glanced around everything seemed so quiet and sad.

Darkkit was the first to react. The She-cat gasped as Moonpaw's lifeless body got dragged to the middle of the clearing. "How... What happened?!" She asked, half-shocked.

Lightningstrike inhaled and mulled over the answer. "Moonpaw drowned in the marshes," he'd leave it at that, the kit didn't need anything else. Besides, he didn't have details. Lightningstrike looked around for any older cats.

Hazepaw glanced at the kit and shook her head.She turned back to Moonpaw's body.A tear slid down her muzzle,why did Moonpaw have to die.

Lightningstrike flicked his tail on her muzzle. "It wasn't your fault, you know." he mewed in a hushed voice, no need for the whole clan to think he had gone soft. "Don't make yourself sick over it."

Darkkit's head drooped and slowly shrunk away into the nursery.

Hazepaw nodded,she felt slightly better but not much.She glanced over at Darkkit then sighed,everything seemed to be going wrong for her.Adderfur,dead.Hickorypad,dead.And now Moonpaw,one of her closest friends, dead.What had she done to anger StarClan so much,for them to kill these cats?

"Hazepaw! Hazepaw!" Flamekit yowled excitedly, racing over to the she-cat that had first brought him into the clan. He stopped in his track as he noticed the lifeless body in the center of camp. With a glance at Hazepaw's face, he had a sickening feeling that something was wrong. His excitement dampened and he padded more tentatively to his older friend's side and pressed himself into her pelt.

Mousepaw glanced across the camp, having seen the warrior and apprentice enter from his peripherals. He didn't even recognize Moonpaw's body until he had studied the returning duo for several heartbeats, vaguely aware that something wasn't right. The wily apprentice was more intrigued than upset, and he pushed the bones of a shrew aside before getting up and trotting over. Hazepaw seemed genuinely distressed, but all the tomcat could manage was a sneer as he heard that Moonpaw had drowned somewhere out in the marshes. "Is that a joke?" He ventured cruelly. "What kind of apprentice drowns in territory they've been trained their whole lives to navigate? Oh well. She was annoying anyway."

Hazepaw looked down at Flamekit before licking him between the ears.The silver cat glared at mousepaw,how was it funny?"Mousepaw,do you seriously believe that?She wouldn't of drowned if I..."She glanced down at the kit.She wanted them to know but Flamekit was here.All he needed to know was that she drowned in the deep marshes.

Lightningstrike  glared at Mousepaw, "Your father was a hilarious joke compared to this, murdered by an apprentice while he begged to stay in ShadowClan." the tom said with b a voice full of disgust.

Flamkekit's ears flattened at Mousepaw's words. The apprentice was cruel. It especially upset the kit because of how distressed Hazepaw seemed to be and the fact he had no idea how to comfort her. "Are you okay, Hazepaw?" The little orange kit whimpered innocently as he shrunk closer to her. Every inch of the tough attitude he boasted in the nursery disappeared when he was next to the cat who rescued him. He didn't know how to react to the hostility around him, but had no desire to stray from the she-cat's side.

"I'm..." She paused she would say fine but she wasn't and Flamekit probably knew."I'm...I don't know,but I'm not fine."She meowed.She looked at Mousepaw coldly then looked back at Moonpaw's dead body.She swiped her muzzle with her tail as another tear rolled down.The apprentice curled her tail around Flamekit,protectively.
