Petalkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath me for a Clan meeting!" Fishstar shouted from above the morning rabble of RiverClan camp.

Fallowpaw scrambled up the slippery stones. She was used to wet conditions, herself as a RiverClan apprentice, but this was just silly. She sat down, and gazed up at Fishstar drearily, as if she were half-asleep.

Petalkit trotted over to the gathered crowd with a cheery smile upon her muzzle. I wonder what this is all about? the cream colored tabby thought to herself and sat down, looking up to Fishstar with side eyes.

"Petalkit, step forward," Fishstar said.

Petalkit stepped forward, her tail and head held high. This was it, her time to shine and become an apprentice! The small cat gleamed with excitement and she couldn't wait to be assigned to a warrior.

"You two have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Petalpaw. Your mentor shall be.." The silver tabby had to stop and think for a moment. This was becoming difficult. There were so many apprentices.. ".. Tawnystorm."

The small she-cat wanted to bounce up and down like a kit when she was given Tawnystorm as a mentor. She would've been happy with any cat as her mentor, but with so many apprentices and so little warriors, the happy little cat was glad that she had a mentor at all. She'd heard stories that Tawnystorm was a great warrior and couldn't wait to start training. Making her way to the she-cat, the newly named apprentice touched noses with her new mentor. "I can't wait to start training!" she meowed with a smile.
