Secluded (closed)

Mousepaw walked nonchalantly through the marshland. He had already hunted and was collecting the prey he'd left scattered around, but first he decided to eat. Forget the rules, he needed to keep his strength up to catch more. It was only fair. The small apprentice dug up a frog and wolfed it down, having no qualms about breaking the code. No one was there to see anyway.

There was no one around to see, huh?

Foxpaw sat patiently, her bushy red tail waving with the cool wind. Mousepaw looked so innocent while he scarfed down one of his earlier catches. It took all of her might not to snicker and run to Leopardfang with this information, but the large tabby managed to hold back and just sit silently behind the tom with a wide grin. Once he turned to gather the rest of his catch, he would be in for the tease of a lifetime.

Mousepaw would never get out of this one.

The tom was completely oblivious. He swiped his tongue over a paw and did his best to wash the evidence away, grunting when he realized he was just moving the blood from his white muzzle to his white paw. Oh well. That would rub off. He smirked to himself, certain that he'd just gotten away with it and feeling smug. It wasn't until Mousepaw turned to collect the rest that he realized he was wrong. "Foxpaw!" He yelped with a jolt of shock, ears laid back and eyes going wide. "O-oh... I didn't see you there... What are you doing out here?" His short fur had fluffed up against his will. How much had the she-cat seen? All of it, probably. His tail lashed in nervousness. Her grin made him feel like a piece of prey in the clutches of a predator.

The she-cat couldn't hold in her laugh this time as he turned around and jumped. His expression was priceless. He really did look like a mouse in that moment. Letting out a loud chuckle, she waved her paw in front of her as she turned her head and snickered into her shoulder. "Haha, oh nothing. Just taking a walk," she meowed, letting her laugh drain off before turning to him with narrowed green eyes. "You know, I could ask the same thing." The tabby stood and sauntered over to her fellow apprentice. Her tail gave a quick swoop under his chin before she circled around him and came to a stop beside him. With one last smirk, Foxpaw leaned close and whispered in his ear. "What are you doing out here?"

He drew his lips back in a grimace as her tail brushed his muzzle. The fur in his ear tickled when her breath flowed over it, her words drawing an indignant huff. "We've got a clan to feed, Foxpaw. Leopardfang sent me out to gather prey- which I have, by the way. I was just heading back." It was a reasonable excuse, and entirely true. The only falsehood was a lie by omission. Perhaps if he ignored the fact that he had just eaten, she would forget about it and start picking on him over something else. "It doesn't seem to me like you've been very productive." Mousepaw dared to counter, hoping against hope to get off easy. She was bigger than him, and she knew it.
