“H-hum…” After a bit of sniffing around she managed to recognize another scent, this one, however, was a lot trickier “Starling…wait, no, hum, magpie? Eh…It’s a bird, I’m sure of that, but I can’t identify which one” That’s what she got for always picking mice, voles and rabbits from the fresh-kill pile, she did recognized the scent of the bird, but she couldn’t help but wish that she knew exactly what kind of bird it was. She immediately started to look around, as well as up, trying to find where the sent came from.

Jayflight nodded Good, she is using what I told her to use he thought happily, he knew where the scent was from and the birds type, but this wasn't about him, this was about Blizzardpaw.

It took a bit longer for Blizzardpaw to finally track the scent of the bird, she noticed that finding birds was harder than squirrels, probably because they could fly. As soon as her gaze landed on the bird after walking around for a bit, which was apparently looking for food in the ground, she dropped to the ground. Cornering a bird would be as easy as it was cornering a squirrel for obvious reasons, so this time she would need to be more careful.

She approached the bird, trying to keep a good stalking posture and have the wind on her favor to avoid being noticed too soon. When she was only at a couple of tail-lengths away she started to grow nervous for the same reason that she had panicked with the squirrel, but this time she kept herself down instead of rushing, already knowing what would happen otherwise.

Holding her breath, she got ready and pounced. Her teeth missed the bird that rushed to fly away, but she reacted quickly, hitting it with a paw to bring it back down and using her claws to hook it and not let it attempt to fly away again. The scene became a mess of fur and feathers before she bit down hard on the bird, killing it, not the best catch ever, but at least it worked.

The white apprentice got up triumphantly with the bird in her mouth “I jig if! I gofh igh!” (I did it! I got it!) She meowed, but without dropping the bird, like expecting it to come back to life and fly away if she did.

Jayflight purred with amusement "That was amazing for your first catch!" he nuzzled her proudly "Do you want to keep hunting?" he asked.

Blizzardpaw stood silent, she did wanted to keep training, but her stomach started to complain. She places the bird carefully in the ground, having to spit not a small amount of feathers in the process thanks to her slightly messy kill of earlier, to be able to talk with him calmly “I would love to, but mind if we go back to camp and eat something first? I’m starting to get a bit hungry”.

Jayflight nodded "I'll catch something quick for you" he mewed padded off into the forest, he soon found a plump vole. Stalking it simply, he leaped up and bit into the neck of it, he dug his claws into the bird, killing it. It was tuff yes, so that's why he had gotten it for the best apprentice in the world, he padded back over to her and dropped it down "That's all for you, since you've been doing so good you can have it all, I'll be fine without a little snack" he promised, laying down and grooming his bloody fur.
