| Darkstar hadn't expected to have to perform this ceremony so soon in her career. She clambered onto her rock and called out to her clan, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting!" This ceremony would be very different from the others. |

| Bluesong made her way out of her nest and took a spot next to her daughter. She knew what this ceremony was. Bluesong was proud of herself for living so long, seeing so much, and being able to serve her clan for so long. But now she was retiring. | Cloverpool poked her head out of the warriors den. So her granddaughter was becoming an elder before her. The old she cat padded over and sat down somewhere close to Bluesong, her former apprentice and granddaughter, giving her support. |

| Gentlenose padded up to her mother, her amber eyes glowing with warmth. "You've earned it. In my eyes, you were the best warrior that ever lived," she purred. Bluesong would always hold a soft spot in Gentlenose's heart, even as an elder. There was a certain warmth that young kits developed for their parents that never quite went away. In Gentlenose's case, it was especially true.
