The Smoke takes on a Cobalt hue [Closed]

Cobaltpaw sat on the top of a hill, in the far reaches of her Clan's territory. She enjoyed the way the wind blew through her dark fur, cooling it of the heat that was drawn to it because of its hue. The young she-cat looked at the sky, watching white and gray clouds blow gently and slowly across the azure sky. She drew her gaze across the moor, with its mottled greens and browns, devoid of trees to block the wind that gave her Clan it's name.
She felt free, enjoying her solitude, although another presence wouldn't be turned away.
Her ears twitched as she heard approaching pawsteps. She turned around, coming face-to face with the newcomer.

Where was he going? Smokepelt wandered around WindClan's territory in silence. At first, he wanted to hunt, but the everywhere he looked, there was no prey to be found. Giving a sigh, the dark grey tom walked to know where in particular, listening to nature. A gentle breeze ruffled his fur and the sun made the weather perfect. Finally realizing he needed to sit down and think about things, he trotted up a hill, stopping in his tracks when he realized someone else was here.

Feeling awkward as usual, he gave a shy smile and sat down beside the she-cat. Part of him wanted to leave, but it was too late to turn back now. "Uh, hello." The timid tom said softly, looking off into the distance.

"Hello, Smokepelt," she replied with a welcoming tone, beckoning him over with her tail. She liked the idea of someone relaxing and watching the world go by with someone. If it so happened to be a handsome tom such as Smokepelt, so be it.

Smokepelt looked to Cobaltpaw and couldn't help but give a little purr. This apprentice was a pretty she cat and he wondered why he hadn't gotten to know her more. "The weather's nice, don't you think?" It was a very basic conversation starter, but he wasn't very good at starting conversations.

"It is quite nice." The wise young she-cat murmured, looking at Smokepelt before casting her gaze back to the sky.

OOC: cobaltpaw is literally the reincarnation of cobaltfire, so she tends to seem a little more matured/wise i guess?

Well this was awkward. Smokepelt felt like he should say something, but no matter how hard he tried to talk, nothing would come out. What's wrong with me? The quiet tom asked himself, finally deciding to say something. "So, I assume you're going to become a warrior soon?" He asked softly, shifting his paws in the grass.

"Yeah, I'll be a warrior in a couple of moons. I wonder what my warrior name will be!" Cobaltpaw pondered, breaking her solemn facade to show the playful apprentice inside.

At the sight of Cobaltpaw's somewhat more happy tone, Smokepelt was honestly surprised. I didn't know she had that in her. "I bet it will be a great name." He meowed in reply, a timid smile across his face. "I remember when I got my warrior name, it was really exciting. But be prepared, for sitting vigil can get a bit lonesome." He added with a chuckle.

"I don't doubt it," Cobaltpaw chuckled, "Unless you have someone to spend it with." She sat up, the scent of rabbit reaching her.
"Do you want to hunt with me?" she asked him, a playful sparkle in her eyes.

About to reply, Smokepelt was surprised by her sudden excitement to hunt. "Um, sure." He meowed in reply. Scenting the air, there was definitely a strong scent of rabbit. "Lead the way." The grey tom meowed softly, with a smile.

Cobaltpaw crept towards the scent, noting their positions. They were currently downwind, and hoped it would stay that way, since the wind was unpredictable, and could change at any moment.

Smokepelt followed Colbaltpaw in silence, checking the air every few steps. It had been a while since he'd gone on a hunt with an apprentice, and it was kind of nice. Realizing that they were close enough to the rabbit, he gave a nod to her, and made his way around the rabbit do he'd be on the fare side of it.

The rabbit hopped into view, and Cobaltpaw waited until Smokepelt was in position before she burst out, chasing it towards him.

In position, he watched as Colbaltpaw chased the rabbit towards him. Staying low to the ground, he prepared himself for the final kill. Ready... now! Once the piece of prey got close enough, he sprang forward. Surprised by another cat's appearance, the rabbit tripped on its own feet, skidding towards Smokepelt. Tackling the struggling animal, he nipped its neck, killing it quickly. Dropping it on the ground and breathing hard from the excitement, he looked to the apprentice. "That was fun!" The usually quiet tom meowed with a smile. He'd forgotten how fun it was to hunt.

"Yeah, it is! It's always more fun hunting with someone else, to be honest." Cobaltpaw agreed, when she had come to a stop. "It's also nice to share prey with someone too."
