Back in the day... (Closed)

Icestorm padded out of the warrior's den, giving a yawn. He felt like going on a patrol, knowing his patrol days were coming to a close. Looking back to the den entrance, he wondered if anyone else would want to join him.

Lightfoot shook his white pelt out, loosening the moss that clung to him every morning. He sure was getting tired, but he knew that there were cats in worse situations than him. He saw his good friend Icestorm and trotted to the gray cat's side, a purr rumbling in his chest. "Hello, Icestorm. You look like you're heading out somewhere interesting. Mind if I join you today?"

Turning his head to a familiar voice, Icestorm was glad to see Lightfoot. "Of course, I was just heading out." With that, the grey tom started padding out of camp, towards the border. "I was thinking of doing a quick patrol and then some hunting." Keeping a fast, yet steady pace, he finally reached the border, put his scent on it.

"That sounds agreeable to me." Lightfoot meowed, content to follow after Icestorm. Border marking was quick and painless, and spending time with his dear friend was what made his life so calm and sweet. Briefly his mind wandered over Minkpaw and her training. Then he turned to Icestorm. "How're Cedarfur and Smokepelt doing?"

"Pretty good. Cedarfur and Breezeheart seem happy, I don't know about Smokepelt though, he keeps to himself most of the time." Giving his fur a shake, he finished marking the borders and gave a nod towards the open moor where they would find the best prey.

"Some cats are just more reserved, I suppose." He said with a chuckle, then followed the other warrior's lead to the moors. He caught sight of a young rabbit nibbling on grass and shot after it. His speed had not yet abandoned him, at least, but stamina was not something he had ever gained much of. Fortunately for Lightfoot, he was able to snatch it up quickly and snap its neck with his jaws.

Giving a nod, he watched the tom dart after the rabbit. Looking around, he sniffed the air for any other scents. Walking the opposite direction of his friend, he crouched down, spotting a plump rabbit. Walking forward slowly, everything was going perfect until he stepped on a twig. The rabbit's head shot up, but before it could run, Icestorm was on top of it, killing it with a swift bite.

The white cat buried his rabbit and headed off, still farther away from Icestorm, in search of more prey. His sharp eyesight caught the from of afield mouse scurrying between the blades of the long grass that swayed gently in the wind. The white cat knew he'd been seen if he stalked before chasing, so he immediately sprinted into range and leaped upon it, breaking its spine with the force of his landing.

Dropping the rabbit, he scented the air again, walking farther away from Lightfoot. Crouching down, he spotted a scrawny little vole. It's small, but better than nothing. Creeping forward, he easily jumped on it, breaking the small animal's neck. Icestorm trotted back to where him and Lightfoot had split up, both of his kills dangling in his jaws.

Lightfoot gathered his prey and backtracked, meeting with Icestorm where they had split up. "A good catch!" He said around the fresh-kill. "Let's bring this back to camp. The queens will be pleased."

"Today was a successful day." He mumbled, the food hanging from his jaws. The two friends trotted back to camp, proud to be WindClan cats. They had been through so much together, and spending time with an old friend was always fun.
