An Unfortunate Incident [SkC/SC]

It wasn't long ago that one of his patrols had found one of their warriors, murdered in cold blood, with the scent of ShadowVlan left on their pelt. It was infuriating, and many of his clan mates had called for the throats of their neighboring clan. But the leader himself? He wasn't so certain.

Compared to the rest of the clans, he'd always seen their nocturnal neighbors on slightly higher ground. They were fierce, proud, and could be cruel; yes, but they had helped saved SkyClan in it's most desperate hour. What reason would they have against them now, and in such a cruel manner that would break the code of the forest they all cherished?

The gray tabby had seen war, had seen the pure hatred in another's eyes, and the anguished cries of others. He'd do anything to stop war from meeting his family again. Which is why he had waited long at the border for a Shadow clan patrol to find him and a few others, to talk to their leader.

"Thrushstar!" He yowled, clear enough for the entire camp to hear.

The sound of his name was quite a surprise to the Shadowclan leader. The voice wasn't exactly a familiar one, but it was one he wouldn't forget. Immediately getting up and walking out of his den, he paused when he came face-to-face with Breezestar. This was definitely a surprise. At first, Thrushstar was a little curious as to why the Skyclan leader had arrived, but by the look on his face and the tone he had used upon entering camp, Thrushstar became very confused. It was obvious the leader wasn't here for small talk.

Straightening himself up and calming himself down, Thrushstar slowly padded towards Breezestar. "This is quite a surprise. How can I help you, Breezestar?" He asked, his brain buzzing like bees over what this could be about. Did someone step over the border? Catch prey on the wrong side?

Danwkit had heard a strange cat call her leader's name. When the light colored kit poked her head out of the nursery, she saw the leader of Skyclan. He green eyes narrowed in response. Since she was a kit she didn't know how to read the situation, and didn't know that Breezestar came on peaceful terms. Well sort of peaceful terms. The young kit dashed out of the nursery, a small growl escaping her, even though it didn't sound like much. The fluff ball attacked Breezestar's paw, her tiny paws batting at his foot, and her dull teeth trying to bite into his leg but it didn't work out to well. She was just a kit after all.

Breezestar had been so focused on the other Tom's arrival, mulling his next few choice of words in his head, that he had hardly even noticed the smallest balk off fluff come running at him from the side. "There's been a disgusting act committed to one of my clanmates, with blatant disregard for the code, and I've come for the truth of it." He narrowed his eyes. Having spent so long on the streets, he had a fairly good mouse-sung meter when it came to catching up on others dishonesty. Thrushstar already striked him as one of the most obvious and telling cats in the forest. "I - eh?"

He'd finally noticed the kit, nipping away at his feet. Internally, he had to fight back a smile, but he was strong enough to keep his stoney demeanor. He let out a real growl, batting the kit back with sheathed claws, barely even grazing her. "These aren't words for a kits ears."

A Broken tailed warrior padded from the Warriors den quietly as she heard the commotion. Brokenflame blinked her green eyes silently and looked to see what the commotion was about and she saw Breezestar from Skyclan and blinked before she tried to think of why the leader of Skyclan would be here. She was quiet for a moment before she stiffened briefly realizing what it probably was but said nothing as she sat down quietly.

His attention suddenly caught by the small kit running from the nursery and trying to attack the Skyclan leader, Thrushstar simply gave Dawnkit a stern look. "Dawnkit, please. That is not how we treat our guests. Please head back to the nursery. This is important business." He really wasn't expecting the kit to listen to him well, but he was expecting one of the warriors or apprentices in the camp to take the kit back to the nursery or at least distract her for a little bit. He had bigger things to worry about, primarily this accusation coming from Breezestar. Turning his attention back to the tom with a look of concern and astonishment, his tail began to lash about behind him.

"What do you mean? What happened? Has another clan done something?" He asked with concern. This was very strange. Thrushstar hadn't seen or heard anything out of the ordinary, and his mind immediately jumped to Thunderclan. However, the look he was being given said otherwise. "Do you think that we have done something to your clan mate?"

Duskpaw emerged from the apprentice den with a deep frown, glaring down the Skyclan leader with a barely contained hiss. What was Breezestar doing here? This was Shadowclan camp, for Shadowclan cats! Furrowing his brows he decided not to remark upon it hence he got into deep trouble with Thrushstar. Surveying the camp at his other clan mates he looked to the kitten batting the Skyclan leaders feet, wrinkling his nose he marched over to the kitten, and aimed to grasp it by the scruff. "Dawnkit stop it, show some respect!" He scolded lowly.

Looking up at Thrushstar as he spoke quickly before proceeding to continue to scold Dawnkit, feeling a bit awkward trying to get the kitten to the nursery while two of the leaders spoke about their 'important business.'

The gray tabby stayed quiet, watching to make sure that the little kit was at least out of sight of the clearing before he went to speak on. No matter where you came from, kits were kits, and this was troubling news he didn't feel such a young one shouldn't have to deal with. Once he felt it was all clear, Breezestar let out a silent sigh, catching his breath again before speaking on.

"Once of my warriors, Stonespot, was found dead. It was clear that she had been deliberately murdered." Breezestar broke frankly. There was no reason to try and sugarcoat it, nor to step his way delicately around it. He wasn't here to make friends or allies, not this time, he only wished for justice for his clanmate. "They had the strong scent of ShadowClan on their pelt, mixed with the blood and in between their claws. Would you happen to know anything about this?" His eyes narrowed then, staring hard, trying to read Thrushstar's expressions.

"I'll take Dawnkit from here, Duskpaw," Purred Frostwhisper as she slid out of the nursery. The queen stepped forward to accept the fur ball from the apprentice. "If that's okay?" she asked the kit with a soft gaze and a smile, hoping to show her that she wasn't going to scold her like the others. "You can have a plump mouse and take a nice nap. How does that sound?"

Shatteredkit watched from the nursery, not in hearing range of the two leaders. He scrunched up his nose at the odd scent of Skyclan and hoped for his mother to come back soon. He loved her scent and just wanted to curl up next to her and sleep. He watched as his white-furred mom stopped in front of an apprentice and a kit. Hurry up, mom, He thought as he shivered in the cold.

Although she was not the slightest bit deaf, and could clearly understand the stressed leader's words, she couldn't help but perk her ears up. I know I didn't! Maybe Mommy did... She smelled like this 'SkyClan' scent. Mainly since she was out of camp and she reeked of blood... She thought borderline sadly.

Before any cat could come up an take Dawnkit away from the two leaders, Dawnkit was already on her way away from them. The small fluffy kit froze when Breezestar growled at her, she finally got the courage to move when the skyclan leader pushed her away with his paws. The small kit was terrified and ran away from the two, and into the nursery.

Leopardfang caught a few words as he came into the clearing, his fur raising at the scent of SkyClan. The words "dead" and "deliberately murdered" drew him to the two leaders, but he kept a respectful distance. The deputy watched Thrushstar steadily as he waited for a cue on how to react. He'd already put together that a SkyClan cat was dead and that a ShadowClan cat was being accused, but he didn't know who. Despite his best attempts, Leopardfang was unable to halt the growl rising in his throat at the thought of a murderer hiding under his nose. If it was true and he found who it was, he was going to personally kill them for bringing such trouble onto the Clan.

Mudpaw lingered behind Leopardfang, but not too close that the tom would get angry at him for listening to the conversation. Someone was killed? In SkyClan? Who would waste their time to kill a SkyClan cat? The apprentice wondered. Come to think of it...Brokenflame has been acting strange and secretive lately...

ooc-so this has to do with the Brokenflame plot right? I am supposed to report Brokenflame was acting weird, can I do it now? :D

Dunekit,curled outside the nusery,looked like he was sleeping,but he was not. This littlesoon-to-be-apprentince was actually spying on thr proccedings.A SkyClan cat murdered?he thought.Dunekit tried to think of the suspects.Hoppaw!he thought.Nah,he's too weak.My mother?he thought.I'm just being silly. he swoled silently at himself.Then who did it?

Immediately, Thrushstar's expression became fierce as his blood began to boil at the thought of one of his clan mates murdering a Skyclan cat. It was because they were Shadowclan wasn't it? Shadowclan were always the murderers, right? The leader opened his mouth to retort but stopped short, taking a moment to look around at everyone who had gathered. Seeing his deputy in particular made him stop and think. As he took a deep breath, he had realized he had unsheathed his claws and how hard they were already digging into the mud underneath his paws. It felt like forever before he finally spoke again.

"I would hate to think that you thought so lowly of Shadowclan to accuse us of such a horrible wrongdoing. However, you have been nothing but kind to me and my clan ever since you arrived in the forest, and I am flattered that you aren't immediately jumping to conclusions as the rest of the clans have done in the past..." he paused a moment, his words drifting as his mind buzzed once more, a thousand scenarios playing in his head all at once before he locked eyes with the Skyclan leader once more. "I can say with the utmost honesty that I know nothing about this murder. Are you positive it was a Shadowclan cat?"
