Petalpaw's assessment(closed for Blaze)

Minnowtail decided to tell her adopted sister what had happened to their former mentor. "Petalpaw come out I need to tell you something." She meowed and stuck her head into the apprentices den and giving her sisters shoulder a gentle shake.

Petalpaw crawled from the apprentices den and looked up at Minnowtail. "This has something to do with that dirt exploding in camp, doesn't it?" she asked nervously.

"Unfortunantly it does. Your mentor, a brave and courageous elder, Foxfang is dead. He was my mentor to so I miss him as well. I'm going to give you your assessment come along." Minnowtail meowed and nudged her sister a vole to start with. "Eat up before we go, I have already eaten."

Petalpaw ate the vole, and then followed Minnowtail.

Minnowtail padded into the forest and over to the Tall Oak. "Ok I want you to catch three squirrels two quails one finch and a vole. Then I want you to come back here for the battle training part." She meowed to her sister and gave her a lick on the cheek for good luck.

Petalpaw took a deep breath to calm her racing heart. She knew she'd been expecting this, but it was still a shock to hear how much prey she had to catch - 7 pieces! "Okay." She set her jaw determinedly and set out into the forest.

She saw a bunch of mice scuttling around, but that wasn't what she was there for. Before long, she had caught two squirrels. But she still had 5 pieces to go. Within the next thirty minutes, she had caught a quail and a vole. She had 3 pieces left. It didn't take much time to catch the finch (2 checkboxes left) and another squirrel (6 down, 1 to go), but it was difficult to find another quail. It took her about another hour to catch one.

Petalpaw collected all her catch and brought it back to Minnowtail. By now the sun was all the way up. I'm glad I'm not in WindClan, or I'm sure I would've burned to ashes by now, she thought.

Minnowtail smiled. "Excellent job. Now for the battle training. I want you to use Front Paw Blow and Front Paw Strike on the Tall Oak, and then I want you to use Tail Yank on me." She meowed and waited.

Petalpaw nodded and headed over to the oak tree. She raised her forepaw and, with her claws sheathed, smashed it down on the oak with all her strength. Strips of bark were ripped free and fell to the ground. Puffs of dust stung Petalpaw's eyes, but she smiled anyhow.

Minnowtail got up. "Great! You did a good job sis! I just wish mom were here to see you.." She trailed off tears starting to form in her eyes. She blinked them away and put on a brave smile. I must be strong for the Clan! No matter how worried about mom I must put my duty to my clan first!! She thought and flicked her sister with her tail. "Come let's go back to camp so you can rest and so I can talk to Duskfall or Spottedstar." She purred and waited for her adopted sister.
