Mothkit's first time out of the nursery

In the darkness of the nursery, a tiny newborn she-kit stirred awake. What awoke her, she didn't know. Maybe it was the wind whispering her name, or the birds calling to her from the skies. Two golden eyes blinked in the shadows, the rest of her body blending in with the black. Curiosity sparkled in her round balls of gold as she peered at all the other cats inside the warm and dark den. Slowly, Mothkit strolled out of the dark to be clearly seen for the first time in the dim light. Her black, white, and orange tortoiseshell fur was soft and well groomed and her long-furred fluffy tail was a blend of all the colors contained in her pelt. A smile ran across the little one's face as she galloped toward the patch of light that lead to camp, jumping over sleeping bodies and dodging queens. It was like an obstacle course...no, it was like an adventure through the forest! Mothkit imagined the queens to be trees and the kits to be bushes. As she leaped out of the nursery, she skidded to a halt and looked around for the first time. "Woah," she gasped.

A grey tabby and ginger scarred she cat saw the kit and smiled. Quietly the warrior padded to the kit with a purr first time out little one?"Sandfire asked smiling. She looked at Mothkit with her green eyes. She flicked her tail that was missing patched of fur quietly.
