First time out of the Nursery

No one knew where the kit came from, or who the father was. They weren't even sure if the deputy, Flameclaw, was the kit's mother, but they kept going back to the idea since they matched in the orange department. Flameclaw one day showed up in camp with the orange, and brown tabby kit, and told Spottedstar it was hers. The deputy mentioned no more, and no less. The deputy went on with her duties, and the went back to the kit. In the nursery every so often. It took a while but the deputy finally gave the kit a name, Sorrelkit. The kit never did anything, but sit in the nursery for a a couple of days.

A few days later a personality appeared in Sorrelkit, and it matched her mother's. She was stubborn, and hot-headed just like her mother. Flameclaw stood outside of the nursery looking at the entrance. "Come on now. It's time you saw the camp. There is nothing to be afraid of. Your mom is the big bad deputy nothings going to happen." Oh did I mention how shy Sorrelkit is? Being afraid wasn't the issue.

Sorrelkit poked her head out of the nursery and looked around for a moment. She looked at her mother then carefully made her way out of it. She carefully made her way out of the narrow hole that marked the nursery's entrance. The orange, and brown kit made her way carefully over to her mother stopping just shortly of her mother's front paws, and sitting down. She took a glance around before looking up at her mother again.

"Ah, so here is the little thing." Spottedstar purred as the little replica of her deputy came out of the nursery. She had actually been about to stop by to see her.

Flameclaw was surprised when she heard Spottedstar. The deputy turned and looked at her leader, and a small smile grew on her face. "This is Sorrelkit, Spottedstar." She went to push her daughter forward to greet the leader, but she turned to find Sorrelkit hiding behind her. "Come on Sorrelkit, she isn't going to hurt you." The deputy said before pushing her daughter forward.

Sorrelkit shook her head as she was pushed closer to the leader. She looked up at the leader with wide eyes, then back to her mother. The kit opened her mouth, and her chest rising and falling at a fast rate. She wanted to say something but when she tried all that escaped was a weird little noise. The kit shook her head again, and retreated behind her mother. She didn't even want to see the look on her mother's face.

She tried to stifle a laugh and watched the scared little kit. Finally she said "Hey Sorrelkit" she went down and lay relaxed on the ground. "See, im not so big and bad."
