Pansykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!"

Mistfeather was especially happy as she called out to the clan. It had been tough for the deputy, seeing one of her kits so sick that she could not become an apprentice with her siblings. But she survived and grew strong, and now was her time to shine.

Dewleaf strolled in from a walk by the river just in time to hear Mistfeather's call, "Another ceremony?" Then she remembered Mistfeather's youngest kit.

Whitekit heard the loud call and remembering what Dewleaf said, he was supposed to sit quietly in the clearing. So he heaved himself out of the almost too small nest and sat just outside the nursery exit, ears pricked, waiting to see what would happen.

'Yes yes yes!' Finally the day had arrived. A flash of white fur was seen dashing towards the willow branch - yellow green eyes beaming with clear excitement although they also showed some nerves. She'd been sitting in the medicine cat's den for a while now - almost 3 moons! Was her body ready too begin the harsh training? Pansykit quickly shook away the thought, she always wanted too be an apprentice - she wanted to be a great warrior like her mother! And maybe just maybe even make it to deputy too..

The fluffy white she-cat had settled down towards the front - watching her mother with beaming eyes. Finally finally she would earn the name -Paw! The look in her eyes had slightly changed she would need to push herself extra hard too catch up to her siblings, she couldn't be seen as the sickly one no way! Licking at her fluffy fur the she-cat had waited quietly and nicely even though the excitement was shown clearly in those big round eyes of hers.

Tansypaw came out of the apprentice den and saw a small kit under the willow branch. She smiled. The smile turned into a frown as she looked on top of the branch and saw Mistfeather. Where was her mentor and leader, anyways?

"Pansykit, please step forward." The deputy called. Looking down at her pure-white kit, she smiled, happy she was finally growing up.

"Pansykit, you have now reached the age of six moons, and are ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Pansypaw. Dewleaf will mentor you. I expect she shall pass all of her knowledge and courage onto you." she meowed proudly. Jumping off, she purred and nuzzled the new apprentice, licking her head in the process. "I'm proud of you."

Dewleaf stepped forward to greet her first apprentice, stiffly and a little unsure of herself she mewed to the younger cat, "I suppose you want to celebrate tonight but I expect you to be up at dawn for your tour of the territory" She purred.
