Salmon Finds White

The gray she-cat knew she wasn't supposed to be hunting, for now she was a queen. But, to her it got boring sitting around the nursery watching her kits sleep all day. She had already caught a small fish, but was looking for more. When she heard a soft rustling of leaves, she immediately crouched, waiting to have her prey in view, then to pounce. But, she jumped in surprise when she heard a mew coming from the leaves.

At first, the queen thought it was one of her kits; it wasn't. The kit had white paws, and the rest of his body was black(?). Still trembling, Salmonstripe peered at the shivering kit. She licked more roughly, as a way of warming it up. Maybe I could adopt this one too?

IC~ Whitekit stumbled out of the bushes and gasped at the older cat, Darn! I didn't want to get caught! How perfect! He growled and bared his teeth as the older cat, a she-cat by the smell, started to groom his ginger and white coat. "Leave me alone stranger I know how to fight!" He mewed swatting at her, only, he was way too short.

Salmonstripe laughed. "I was just hunting. I don't mean any harm, unless, of course, you decide to fight me."

Whitekit sat back wrapping his stubby tail around his paws gave a tiny smirk, This should be easy, he gave a sweet purr and widened his amber eyes, "I'm very hungry!" He mewed and carefully nudged her swollen belly.

Salmonstripe gave looked away and saw the kit in the corner of her eye. "Well, what do you eat? Milk? Mice? Voles? Fish?" She purred in an asking voice, laying down.

"Milk!" He licked his lips awaiting the meal to come, Am I old enough to eat food? He shrugged as he small paws kneaded the ground hungrily.

The she-cat smiled. She lay on her side, and purred, "There you go." She picked up the kit and placed him next to her swollen belly.

Whitekit purred and started the milk tread as he got his fill, soon his eyes grew heavy and with a full belly he was soon snoring.

Salmonstripe quietly licked her new son. This is what happens when you are a pregnant queen and you go hunting! The queen thought, slowly getting up. She grabbed the ginger kit by his scruff, and dragged the kit into a small bush. This is where we will stay until he wakes up. She placed the kit down onto a pile of leaves.

The small bundle of fur, snoozed on, he was much like his father and was a very heavy sleeper. Eventually waking up he sat up and gave a big yawn and looked to the older cat, half his fur flat, the other half fluffy.

"You ready? You want to go back to camp, now?" The queen asked, ready to leave the bush with the kit. But, without waiting for an answer, she picked the kit up by the scruff and brought him to camp. End topic.
