Duckpuddle was ready to use her leg again. She had just come back from her most recent exercise session in the river. Every session made her leg feel the tiniest bit stronger. The brown she-cat could only imagine how great it would feel after a few more swims in the river. It would be as if nothing had ever happened to her leg! The fact that the warrior had gained her injury in the first fight against ThunderClan haunted the she-cat whenever she thought deeply about it. If only this war would stop... peace would only bring more peace, but war brought more war. Would it ever end? Letting out a quiet sigh, Duckpuddle waited for her assigned patrol to join her near the camp exit.

Darkpaw padded over with a rather neutral expression on her maw. She was contemplating her new life as an apprentice and thinking over several other things. However, as she caught sight of Duckpuddle, that quickly turned into a soft smile. This was another clanmate she hadn't had much time to get to know yet. Although, like with most of the warriors of her clan, the split-faced calico already loved and respected the warrior she barely knew. Ivystar leads and raised them all so well, there was no doubt Duckpuddle would be great too.

"I'm ready whenever you are. It is such a perfect day to go out." She purred. Ever contented, Darkpaw was simply happy she had the opportunity to connect with another clanmate on her mission to truly know them all.

Wolfsong got up from 'his' rock once he saw both cats in his assinged and walked over to them "Hello Duckpuddle and um I don't think I remember you're name" he meowed. How stupid of him not remembering the name of the apprentices in his clan. He smiled slightly "And yeah I'm ready to" he meowed. He hoped that they wouldn't meet any predatores today.

Duckpuddle smiled gently at Darkpaw as the split-faced apprentice padded over. She hadn't had the chance to speak with the young she-cat, yet, and now would be as good of a time as ever to get to know yet another apprentice in RiverClan. This was bound to be a nice, calming patrol.
"We'll leave as soon as Wolfsong arrives." The warrior told the apprentice.
When the other warrior joined them, Duckpuddle directed her smile towards him, "Hi, Wolfsong. Let's go."
After the she-cat led the other two cats out into the territory, she continued to walk, but began to give directions as she did so.
"We'll each try to catch at least three pieces of prey each. If you run into anything dangerous, just shout. Darkpaw, try to stay close to a warrior just in case something happens."

Without another word, Duckpuddle bounded off in an attempt to catch her first piece of prey. The first thing that she spotted was a mouse rummaging around on the ground in its own search for food. Holding her breath and silently padding forwards, the warrior kept her sharp green eyes on the little rodent. Once she was within jumping range, the brown warrior sprang forwards so that she could try and catch the furry animal. However, before she could catch the thing, a talon shot out and landed directly on the neck of the mouse, killing it. Duckpuddle glanced up, wondering what it was, and her eyes shot open wide in fear as she realized that it was an owl. Had it flown over here from ThunderClan's side? The large winged creature with its huge, yellow, terrifying eyes stared her down.
"Wolfsong! Darkpaw!" She yowled, "Over here!"
Then, she leaped into action.

'Hunting Dice' : 10

Darkpaw quickly meowed a greeting to the other warrior and said, "It's Darkpaw. Glad we can finally patrol together." Before she could say anything else, Duckpuddle had set off for the territory. The she-cat was giddy at getting another chance to fish and hurried along to keep up. As the patrol leader gave instructions, she simply nodded in agreement. Her eyes were scanning ahead to look for the river she knew was still a ways off. Even if it meant breaking away a bit further, she was excited at the prospect of fishing once more. However, the older she-cat warned her to stay nearby. Hunting on land was something she lacked the skill for, so as she watched Duckpuddle go after a mouse, her tail flicked a little uneasily. Hopefully, the warrior didn't expect her to do the same.

Her amber eyes hardened briefly in concentration as she mulled over the technique for hunting mice. Were you supposed to drag your tail or something? No, that didn't sound right. For a moment, she ran through the concepts of hunting in her mind, trying to make sense of something that did not inherently make sense to her. A yowl was what finally caused her gaze to snap up. Duckpuddle was in trouble! Darkpaw's tail lashed behind her as she raced towards the source of the sound. There was a massive bird, unlike any she had seen before that hovered in front of Duckpuddle. Remembering the raccoon that tried to steal her fish, she channeled a sense of frustration. The danger was lost to her.

"Get out of her, you ugly monster!" Darkpaw yowled as she launched herself forward with a leap that would have been considered worthy by Skyclan. Her claws slid easily through the feathers and she felt the skin breaking below. It didn't occur to her to sink her teeth in as well as she clung onto the animal.

Darkpaw used leap and hold on the owl, dealing 6 damage and using 10 stamina. Owl is held for 2 turns!

Wolfsong nodded slowly and followed the two cats out of camp.
Darkpaw... The same name as the cat that he had loved, she had been killed by a fox and he hadn't been able to save her. He knew it was no ones fault the dark blue-ish she cat had died but he still blamed himself.

He got snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Duckpuddle yell and charged forward once he saw the owl. Darkpaw who had gotten to he owl and Duckpuddle first where holding the owl down so he striked at it with his front paws. The owl whould not get to kill anyone, the bird would feed a few cats if they could kill it and get it back to camp. He growled quietly, almost everytime he had to fight a predatore, well that's just his luck he thought while striking at the large winged creature.
