Things least Expected (closed to the kits being played,and the medicine cat,also Greenleaf)

Meadowfall padded from camp her swollen belly full of kits that were to be born soon. The she cat had grown stubborn when it came to staying cooped up in camp and had often snuck out. With her recent meeting with Greenleaf. She had promised she would meet him that night. She knew good and well it was dangerous but here she was padding to the Thunderpath. As she arrived she felt a strong searing pain in her belly that spread through her whole body. She held back a cry of pain as she crouched low her belly Brushing the ground before she laid on her side gritting  her teeth she let out a single cry of pain. As she did two sets of pawsteps hit the queen's ears one coming from the direction of camp the other from the other side of the Thunderpath.

Ashkit struggled to get out she was becoming cramped inside her mothers belly.

Gorsefeather raced after his sister's scent tracking it to the Thunderpath without a moment to lose. The tom was outraged that his sister would do something so foolish like leave camp so close to her kitting time. He also felt mildly hurt and betrayed that she'd risk something like this over a tom that she'd acted like the father would play no role in these kits' lives. But now wasn't the time for him to fret over his personal feelings, his sister's wellbeing and kittens lives were at stake.

Carrying a bundle of herbs he'd be especially preparing incase the kitting was premature, he finally caught up to Meadowfall. Calling out to his sister.

"Meadowfall, you fool! Are you okay?!" He hissed through the leaf wrappings.

Meadowfall looked to her brother,Gorsefeather, as she heard him . She held back another cry of pain before she mewed "y....yes I..I'm fine t..the kits are coming though " Meadowfall mewed wincing in pain.

Ashkit started to wiggle out she wanted free! It was so cramped in here and she didn't like it!

"And naturally you decided to come here of all places to give birth?" Gorsefeather questioned in frustration as he opened the parcel he'd brought with him. He had with him a variety of herbs, but would have preferred the assurance of a fully stocked den. However he had to make do with what he had.

He chewed up a mixture of lamb's ear and burnet, the first for stamina, and the second as a preventative measure against bleeding. Meadowfall was going to need both to get through this. The chervil leaves he left as they were, Meadowfall was going to have to chew them herself for the juices. They would help her kitting.

"Eat this." He ordered, pushing the mixture towards her. "And then chew on the leaves I'll be placing in front of you. Make sure to drink up every last drop."

With a final wiggle Ashkit started to come into the world. Ashkit was probably the biggest lot of the litter.

Meadowfall looked to the mixture he placed in front of her and she winced some before eating the herb mixture he put in front of her. She swallowed it quietly. "I...ok " she mewed .

"Here." He nudged the chervil leaves closer to her in plain sight so she could access them easily. Despite being mad at her, he gave her a soothing lick on the forehead. Like he imagined their mother would have done had she have lived. While he would never know how it felt to give birth, he could easily imagine it wasn't the most pleasant experience, and understood she needed his support.

Ashkit wasn't moving, she didn't really know what TO do so she just wiggled around.

Meadowfall smiled just a little as he licked her forehead soothingly before she took the Chervil in her mouth and chewed it swallowing the juices. Though she felt a but more of pain and bit her tongue not wanting to cry out in pain again. She winced and dug her claws into the ground as she felt a searing pain before it calmed for a moment a kit had come out. She thought she'd be able to get a breathe in but that's not what happen.

Ashkit was still again. Why was it still dark! Maybe she would never see but maybe she will.

Gorsefeather snapped a stick off a bush nearby with haste, bring it over for Meadowfall to bite. While the chervil would help, the pain wouldn't be completely gone. And it looked like there would be more kits coming.

"Bite down on the stick and push when you feel the urge. Don't worry about your kits, I'll clean them up." With that, the medicine cat approached the first kit born, breaking the sac around it with his teeth gently. Then he began to aggressively lick it clean, stimulating it's lungs and blood circulation. Once he was satisfied with his work, he placed the kit between his paws to keep it warm.

Meadowfall nodded and bit on the stick just as she felt more pain before yet another kit came out. This continued for a bit until the last kit slid out. With it Meadowfall snapped the stick in two before she looked to her brother then to the kits somewhat weakly but smiled some.

Ashkit mewled her grey specked fur was all wet and she was cold very very cold there were a few scents she could scent her mother and was in between her father?. What was this sweet scent coming from? She started to crawl over to her mother and started to suckle.
