Icekit and Wailingkit's Apprentice Ceremony

ooc: Just doing this because some people requested to be apprentices before the plot started, and Darky has apparently not been responding to messages. he's probably playing eso



Fishpelt collected her strength and sprang up onto the willow branch, landing a little clumsily due to tiredness. Sunstar had been too tired to preform a ceremony this morning, so his deputy had taken up the job. She felt a bit out of place on the willow branch, but was excited at the prospect of naming two new apprentices.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!"

Icekit excitedly ran over. Hopefully today would be their apprentice ceremony! She plopped down in front.

Shimmerpaw padded towards the willow branch where clan meetings were held, sitting next to Icekit

Wailingkit's raced over, a few steps behind his sister. Fur perfectly groomed, he looked sleek and glossy, even though it's leafbare. He was ready to become an apprentice and serve his clan.

Fishpelt felt a purr rising in her throat as her younger Clanmates presented themselves. Her thoughts raced back to her own apprentice ceremony, when she'd stood before Reedstar with unkempt fur and crooked whiskers. Wailingkit seemed to have known that today was a special day for him, as he had groomed himself to perfection. Icekit seemed a little less formal, but she made up for that with enthusiasm. "Wailingkit, Icekit, please step forward."

Wailingkit's chest puffed up with pride as he stepped forward, his every pawstep displaying his self-confidence. He glanced over to his left where his sister sat alongside Shimmerpaw, and it filled him with joy knowing that soon they'd be apprentices. They'd hold the same rank as Shimmerpaw, which seemed a little ridiculous considering how much bigger she seemed compared to him. Taking a moment to take in his last moments as a kit, he relaxed and looked at the deputy, lowering his head respectfully.

Icekit proudly stepped forward. Now she was going to be an apprentice, and then a warrior. Though she knew it would take a lot of hard work she could manage. At least I'll be with Wailingkit and Shimmerpaw! This is so exciting!

"You two have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed." She paused to recollect the ceremonial words in her mind. "From this day forth, until you recieve your warrior names, you shall be known as Icepaw and Wailingpaw. Icepaw, your mentor shall be Mistfeather. I hope she passes all of her knowledge onto you." The deputy halted again, eyes sweeping over the warriors. Who doesn't have an apprentice? Maybe.. Ah, yes. "Wailingpaw, I shall mentor you. I will teach your all that I know." She leaped down from the willow branch to touch noses with her new apprentice.

Icepaw nodded happily. "Thank you, Fishpelt." Icepaw said and smiled. Finally an apprentice. She stepped off to go find Her mentor.

Pleasantly surprised with who his mentor would be, Wailingpaw touched noses with Fishpelt. He was over the moon, he was an apprentice, and had the great honor of the Deputy for a mentor. He couldn't wait to speak to Snowfrost and Rippletail, and of course talk to Icekit-paw about it.

"Thank you, Fishpelt." He spoke calmly, hiding the bursts of excitement that roared through him. "I look forward to being taught by you."
