Hunting [OPEN]

Redpaw beamed, she hasn't seen me yet! She thought taking her pawsteps slowly. But one thing came over her, I can hunt why don't I show her? She ran up ahead trying to surprise Heatherpaw. She laughed but kept quiet as she perked her ears for any sign of prey.

Heatherpaw bit back a mrrow of laughter as Redpaw darted ahead of her, probably trying to surprise the golden she-cat.

Redpaw smiled but stopped and opened her jaws. There, she spotted a rabbit twitching around she stalked it. Then she gave chase, leaping she expected it to be under her but it hoped away. Gasping for breath Redpaw sprang back in to chase finally landing on it with a smack. "I caught it!" She exclaimed happy and excitement rushing through her.

Heatherpaw smiled. "Good catch!" she purred.

Redpaw turned, "Thanks!" She said pride flew through body making her beam.

"You're welcome," she meowed, returning the cat's smile.

"Now what? More prey, or battle practice!" She exclaimed as this was one of her first outings and she wanted to learn. She picked up the rabbit the scent making her mouth water.

Asterflower allowed her heart to slow down a bit, realizing that, while she had worried about her sister, she was fine. She was alive and good, not a scratch on her...so maybe it had been nothing. But she had been so worried! What would have happened if she had lost her sister? Starclan, she just couldn't imagine it...

"What's so funny?" She asked, hearing her sister's laughter. Did she think her scolding was laugh-worthy. No, apparently...because second later she noticed yet another cat stalking them through the grass. Another apprentice, apparently.

"You sure your mentor's not looking for you?" She asked politely, asking the question she wouldn't ask her sister, if only because she'd worry about ruffling her fur about being a warrior already.

"Oh umm.." Redpaw stopped in her words scrunching up her face. "I don't know but, I can practice hunting, right?" Her questioning gaze she tried to turn to bare into Asterflower. Then she looked at Heatherpaw and turns to go back to the camp, if any one would say anything.

So the apprentice wasn't technically supposed to be out there. Asterflower knew she should probably tell them to head back to camp and make sure they weren't wanted. But...he had captured a rabbit on his own. What could the harm be?

"Wait..." She called, stopping him before he could turn on his head and head back. "I suppose...you can stay with us for a while. Three heads are better than one, after all. And the clan always needs prey."

Redpaw smiled circling back and smiled. "But where now?" She asked ready to catch prey and impress the warrior. She looked around not scenting anything, stumbled she sat on her rump.

With a hawk and a rabbit in their arsenal, there was enough that they could leave them for the clan, and come up and get something for themselves. "Why don't we bury these somewhere, and then go find ourself our own piece of prey. Both of those are big enough to satisfy several cats, so we should be proud to bring them back later - but we can get away with filling our bellies, too."

Heatherpaw was growing tired, and she purred at the thought of food. "Sounds good." She meowed firmly.

While still a little worried about watching some other cat's apprentice, as well as her own sister, she did see that they had certainly proven themselves. "Fine then - since you guys caught them, then you can bury them, right? Unless you need some help with that hawk, Heatherpaw." It was nearly as big as Asterflower herself was, standing next to it as she was.

Heatherpaw looked at the hawk and winced. "Yes, please." she mewed.
