Friendless

"Never splash the splash master!" He mewed and sent water flying everywhere, not noticing the budding romance.

Shimmerkit glanced at Shallowkit quickly before she started splashing again. "C'mon Shallowkit, let's attack him!" She yelled after she had shook off her shyness. then she leaped onto Midnightsky's back and started swiping at his fur with tiny paws.

Shallowkit tried to shake off the feeeling, but it clung to him like a burr. "Okay," he mewed and half-heartedly attacked the warrior. The feeling, was it...love?

"Ahhhh! Tiny little warriors! My only weakness!" He yelled and fell down on his side.

Shimmerkit giggled and her eyes locked with Shallowkit's for a few seconds. The shyness came back, and she looked down at her paws. Her stomach tingled. Was she hungry? No. Was she sick? No. She looked back up at Shallowkit. "You know, this was fun, but I'm getting cold and a bit hungry," she told Midnightsky. She was cold. Shimmerkit was practically shivering.

Shallowkit looked up at the other kit. She really was cold! He ran over to his friend and pressed against her side, trying to warm her up the best he could. Shallowkit looked back up at Midnightsky. "Thank you for taking us to the stream!" He smiled.

Shimmerkit felt awkward when Shallowkit pressed against her side. Not a bad awkward, a good awkward. She was pleased that Shallowkit would do that to help her warm up. "Thanks Shallowkit," Shimmerkit half whispered/half said to him.

Shallowkit once again felt his cheeks heat up. "No problem!" he murmured.

"Come on, let's head back to camp and get you two dried off before your mothers give me a scolding for getting you two wet."

Shimmerkit nodded at Midnightsky. "Ok," she said as she enjoyed Shallowkit's warmth. "C'mon, Shallowkit, let's go and get dried off," she said as she started heading to camp.

Shallowkit padded to the camp, still thinking about the trip to the stream.

"Alright, go on back to the nursery." He mewed and licked the kits goodbye

Shimmerkit was happy once she saw the nursery. The stream had been fun...but it was cold and tiring. She laid down and curled up into a ball, her long fluffy fur acting like a blanket. Soon, Shimmerkit drifted off to sleep.

Shallowkit half ignored his mother and padded up to his friend, curling around her.
