Friendless

As Shimmerkit watched cats pad in and out of camp, she wondered what it was like out there. She knew she couldn't go out from camp and she didn't want to, but she wanted to see the river. She looked around for a warrior to ask to take her. She knew nobody, and had no friends, but she didn't mind. She was bound to make a new friend soon. A figure appeared heading towards her. "H...hello?" She asked.

Shallowkit padded forward, not knowing about the warrior that was headed forward, and touched her shoulder with his tail tip. "Hey, I'm Shallowkit! Are you waiting to go see the river?" Shallowkit greeted.

"Yes," Shimmerkit said surprised. "How did you know?"

Shallowkit shrugged. "I didn't know. I'm waiting to see the river, so I just thought I'd ask. Being stuck in camp is so boring for me!"

"Same here! Wow, you totally understand me. I really want to see the river, but it's out of camp..." Shimmerkit said as she sat down.

"I know.. that's the bad part about it. Warriors seem too busy for us kits, so we can never go out of camp!" Shallowkit sighed. "Instead of waiting, should we just go ask the warriors?"

"Well, I guess. But they are big and scary! I...I don't know." Shimmerkit said sadly. "What do you think?"

"Don't be sad or scared! I'm here!" Shallowkit comforted Shimmerkit. "It's not like they're badgers, or something." he meowed good-naturedly.

Shimmerkit smiled a little and looked into Shallowkit's eyes."Thanks, Shallowkit." She purred. "Ok, lets go ask one!"

Shallowkit purred and smiled. "Who do you want to ask?"

Shimmerkit searched for a bigger cat to ask. "How about that one?" She asked, pointing to a figure with her tail. "C'mon!" She padded over to the figure. And looked up at it. "Um, excuse me I uh...I was wondering if..." She was to nervous to finish her sentence.

Shallowkit relaxed her. "It's okay Shimmerkit!" he whispered. Turning his attention back to the warrior, he grinned. "She means we were wondering if you could take us to the river so we could see it. Would that be okay?"

Midnightsky turned around to look at the small kit. "Hello. What do you two want? I'm sure I can help you two out."

Shimmerkit now felt better that Shallowkit relaxed her. "Ya, what he said, um can you take us to the river?" She asked, still a bit nervous.

Shallowkit grinned and nodded in reply.
