Returning Home

Briarheart trudged through the territory of her former home from a while ago. It was close to dawn, but the star still shown. The long fured brown tabby finally got away. When she traveled to the the twoleg place one time because of something she heard, right when she got there she got picked up but a twoleg. She fought and fought the twoleg, but it struck her head and grabbed her scruff so she stopped moving. She got trapped in the twoleg's house, with no escape. The gave her little to none food, and if she did something slightly bad the would throw something at her or hit her. She was scared every single day, one of them left the door open, and she finally made an escape. Once she was out, she went to an ally-way and sat there trying to think of a way out but she couldn't remember. She had to try and find something she knew, which she did and she found her way back to the territories, and that where she is now.

The brown warrior was missing patches of fur about her body, and her once bright green eyes dull. Her body was small and frail compared to the big and bulky it used to be back when she was with the clan. She knew they would have to discuss if they would take her back. She hoped they would. Finally she reached the camp on her weak legs. She didn't want to walk in, so she stood in the open near the entrance waiting for the guard or someone to notice the long missing warrior.

Honeywhisker opened her eyes slowly. She looked behind herself, there was Midnightsky. A small smile grew on her face, and she let out a sigh. She was hoping to get some alone time before he woke up. She got up, and left the warriors den.she was going to go back to the river, She saw something standing in the entrance of camp, blocking her path. "Huh?' she whispered to herself. She blinked a couple times to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. "W-W-Who is that?" she asked a little frightened. She knew that this cat couldn't do much, she looked like she could barely stand, and she was so skinny. Honeywhisker ran over to the leader's den, and without asking walked in. "Reedstar? There's someone here, They're standing at the entrance." she said as she waited for a response. She felt weird being in his den, she had never really been in there, and she didn't think that Reedstar even liked her.

Amberheart heard Honeywhisker's mew and opened her eyes. She scented an unfamiliar cat, but somehow it still had an under-lying RiverClan scent. She heaved herself out of her nest and peeked outside, seeing a very frail she-cat just kind of standing there with glazed eyes.

"What? Who is it?" Reedstar stood and padded to Honeywhisker's side. A foul scent hit his nose as he looked over the cat. A rogue? She looked ragged, gaunt, starving, frail, and carried with her the lingering scent of Twolegplace. He began to growl when realization lit up in his eyes. "Briarheart?" The tom stepped forward, looking her over from head to tail. It was. A million questions filled his mind, but he could only look on in amazement. She'd disappeared so long ago, and he had just assumed... "You're alive? Where have you been?" He turned, his murky green gaze sweeping camp. "Where is Sorrelpaw? Lichenface? Go! Somebody get a medicine cat!" Reedstar whirled around again to face her. "What happened?"

Briarheart gave out a sigh of relief and sat down. She flinched when she did because it was still hard to stay standing up, but she felt if she fell it would only make things worse. She looked up at her leader with sad eyes, "I got trapped in the twoleg place.. couldn't escape. They attacked me, no food... She answered with as little answers as possible saving her small amount of energy. Anyone could take on glance and know that she was very weak.

Reedstar, concern obvious in his eyes, walked to her side. "Come inside camp. You need food. And rest." Stolen by Twolegs? He grimaced at the thought, wondering how many hundreds of warriors had disappeared throughout the ages, and how many spent the rest of their lives locked inside a Twoleg nest as a prisoner and a kittypet. Anger filled him, but he felt so powerless as well. How could he exact revenge on a Twoleg? How could he stop a Monster? There isn't anything I can do. His gaze flicked from Briarheart, and then to the cats standing by the entrance. I can only help what I can control, he thought, trying to reassure himself, but it only made him angrier. "You're lucky you're alive."

Briarheart gave a small smile before pushing herself to stand again. She slowly made her way inside the camp, and over to where the food was. She carefully grabbed a piece before moving to sit near it. Carefully she laid down, and slowly began eating her food. She was glad Reedstar let her come back, she hoped to regain her strength so that way she could assist her clan again, but for now she needed rest.

Midnightsky yawned awake, he sniffed the air, there was a strange scent in the air. He pushed himself up and looked at the strange cat in the camp. "What's going on?"

Amberheart, now knowing this she-cat was not an intruder, felt pity for her. She curiously padded out of her den and stood a few feet away from Reedstar. "Reedstar," she mewed softly, "Who's this?" she felt very young asking the question. Well obviously she's a lost RiverClan warrior! What are you, a kit, just out of the nursery? She was a warrior and she hadn't even seen this cat before. She shuddered, thinking of how much time she must have spent in the two-leg place.

"Hey.... Amberheart. Let's go find the medicine cats." He mewed at the older warrior.

Amberheart nodded and turned toward the medicine cat's den with Midnightsky.
