Lilykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" The ThunderClan awaited the cats to gather for an apprentice's ceremony. She pondered at whether her decision about who would mentor the kit was a good one, but in the end decided that she could always change the mentor if they had too much trouble.

Lilykit ran out of the nursery excitedly. She was 6 moons old so she thought this had to be her apprentice ceremony. She sat down in front of the Highrock and groomed herself, she didn't want to look like a mess for her ceremony. After she finished her quick grooming she looked up at her leader in anticipation.

Rookheart, Tawnypaw and Bramblepaw headed to Highrock. The warrior sat down with the two apprentices beside her. Bramblepaw dipped his head to his leader and mentor.

Spottedflight trotted up, casting a glance at Rookheart and her apprentices before taking a seat close to the front. Her gaze then traveled to Lilykit, who was obviously the reason for the ceremony. The older warrior held in a purr of amusement.

Flamegaze took a spot towards the back with a respectful nod to the cats around him. He wondered who would get this apprentice; certainly not him, who already has Falconpaw.

Addertail padded out and took a seat next to Flamegaze. Another apprentice ceremony, I assume, he thought, looking at the excited Lilykit with an amused shimmer in his eyes. No doubt she was excited to start training.

Dewstar smiled gently at the kit and then began speaking. "Lilykit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. Until you earn your warrior name, you will be called Lilypaw and Addertail will mentor you. Addertail, I expect you to pass on your quick wits to this young apprentice."

Addertail perked his ears. His apprentice? So he finally was getting one! With a small smile, he padded forward to touch noses with Lilypaw. "I'll do my best to make you a great warrior." He purred, glancing up at Dewstar with a tiny nod.

Lilypaw touched noses with Addertail. She was so excited she didn't even know what to say to him, she was ready to just jump out of her fur. I'm finally Lilypaw! she thought. She looked at Addertail, "I can't wait to start my training with you" she mewed.
