Death of Raccoonstar

Raccoonstar had manged drag herself over to the highstones, and to the MoonStone. The Windclan leader was dying, and she knew it to. She was old and getting frail quickly. Recently the leader had developed a sickness that she couldn't shake, and lost three lives because of it. Raccoonstar stumbled across the area, and over to the Moonstone where she finally fell off her feet and onto the cold ground. The leader looked up at the Moonstone with her cold faded blue eyes as the light of the Moonstone shone through out the cavern. Raccoonstar's breath came out in short bursts as she tried to fill her lungs with air.

The leader used her paws to try and push herself forward, closer to the moonstone, but she failed. She coluldn't move anymore. A pain filled noise came from Raccoonstar's grey muzzle as she closed her eyes. Her breathe grew shallow as the night continued on and the light from the moonstone started to fade. After a few moments her breathe stopped all together, and her body heat began to fade. Someone will find her body soon.

A Starry pelt stood beside the body, with a face full of sadness. A sigh escaped the starry figure, but it face grew with happiness as it looked towards the stars to join it's ancestors.

Where had she gone? When Falconfang had noticed that Raccoonstar wasn't it camp, he had started to grow worried. The leader wasn't in the best of health, and with her rampant paranoia, she could have gone anywhere. Grabbing another warrior, the deputy had set out into the territory searching for her. Eventually he picked up her trail heading towards Highstones, so he began moving that way. Perhaps she had gone to speak with Starclan, but she hadn't told anyone to his knowledge, and a niggling feeling of fear forced his paws on faster, hoping that he would find her just speaking with their ancestors.

It was dark now, and Falconfang figured that the moonlight was soon to fade from the Moonstone, so he knew he would have to hurry. Hunger gnawed at his belly, but he refused to stop and hunt, for that fear was growing greater, and it wouldn't end until he had gotten to the Moonstone. When he reached it, he didn't even give it a second thought before plunging into the pitch-black cave. Raccoonstar's scent was on the ground: she had to be here.

After what felt like an entire night of walking in the dark, he had finally reached the interior. In his haste, he had barely remembered the warrior following behind, but hopefully they would be able to catch up. Stepping forward, the cave had ceased its illumination, and darkness coated the area. Still, there was no mistaking that someone was there, and seeing that frame lying still upon the ground made Falconfang's entire body grow cold. Padding slowly, trembling, towards it, it was unmistakable who it was. The familiar scent of the moors with the tinge of illness; there was no mistaking who it was. They lied so still though… "Raccoonstar?" His voice faltered as he murmured her name, pressing his nose to her fur, sensing, listening… No, there was nothing. No breath, no voice, no beat. She was… she was gone. Shaking, he pressed himself against her cold body, listening in vain, praying that this was only another life to lose, that there was still another. She couldn't be gone… she couldn't be gone.

OoC: I just need another warrior there for body transport. We don't need to start a mass here.

"Where would she have gone?" Ivyfur asked as she had been asked by Falconfang to find the frail leader. Her eyes were alert for anything- and she wanted nothing more than to find the beloved Raccoonstar. With her scent in mind, Ivyfur trudged on in hope to find her. They needed her at camp, but if she had died while out, it was not a good loss, as Leaf-Bare was at it's worst peak, where illness spiked to kill many. Raccoonstar had been one of its victims.

Ivyfur felt out of place near the moonstone, and paused before she followed Falconfang again. When she got to a cave, she was amazed at it's beauty, but the sight of her dead leader frightened her. "Falconfang, she has joined StarClan, you are now leader..." She trailed off, burrying her nose in Raccoonstar's pelt in greif. The tears came in a steady flow, and she wanted to mourn breifly before taking their leader's body back to camp. "Raccoonstar, may you light our paths in StarClan, and rest peacefully." She whispered, crying as the greif of death was in effect.

After allowing himself a moment more of grief, Falconfang stood up, having to steel himself for the task ahead. It would do no good to stay here: they needed to take Raccoonstar's body back to camp, where she could be properly mourned by the clan. "Come on, Ivyfur," he murmured quietly. "We need to carry her back to camp." He stood next to the former leader's limp body, helping to lift her up so the two of them could bring her back. It was going to be a long journey with the extra weight, but there was no way he would leave her here.

Ivyfur nodded, understandig his point. "Alright." Parting from her body, she got herself in a manner she could carry Raccoonstar easily, but balance the weight between them both. "Leaf-bare is starting to grip WindClan, now." She hissed through chilled breath. Her blue eyes shone wih concern for the clan, and she felt like a mother caring for kits at the thought of death. "Falconfang, I will indeed say it now, may StarClan guide you in leadership that has been laid into your future."
