Rainpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Dewstar was perched atop the Highrock. She found herself here often, though that was not a bad thing. If only it were more protected from the cold winds. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" Today was a special day- not just an apprentice ceremony, but a warrior ceremony -for a very hardworking cat.

Spottedfeather came under the Highrock. Finally, one her hard working apprentices were becoming a warrior. She smiled to Rainpaw and gave a reassuring brush of her tail against her shoulder. "Finally, its your day. You have done great."

Rainpaw peered out of the apprentice's den, curious. After a moment of thought, she realized who this was for. This is my warrior ceremony! Forcing down a sqeak of glee, she quickly groomed her long fur before coming to sit under the Highrock. At the unexpected praise from her mentor and deputy, she gave a purr of thanks.

A soft smile lit Dewstar's face. "Rainpaw, please step forward."

The young cat stepped forward obediently. And if cats could smile, this she-cat would be grinning ear to ear. Her apprenticeship had felt like an eternity and a half, but it was worth it.

"I, Dewstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Rainpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" She stared into the apprentice's eyes, and couldn't help but feel a flicker of pride. ThunderClan was growing, and it was a refreshing sight.

Rainpaw gazed up at Dewstar. "I do." she mewed, no uncertainty present.

Dewstar jumped from the Highrock, landing gracefully in front of Rainpaw. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Rainpaw, from this moment you will be known as Rainspot. StarClan honors your loyalty and intellegence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She momentarily rested her chin on the new warrior's head, murmuring a meow of congratulation.

Spottedfeather was the first to cheer her old apprentice's new name "Rainspot! Rainspot!" she bounded up to the new warrior and touches noses with her. "Congratulations! I'm so proud of you." she purred at her.
