Depression Takes it's Toll

Ivyfur tossed and turned in her nest, before sleep finally overtook her.

The tabby had woken to what seemed like Riverclan territory. It really confused the she-cat, but she could not change it. Ivyfur had been so depressed lately... It was certain she had to have anxiety over recent events. She had been having strange, haunting dreams; even though she couldn't help it.

Thoughts raced through her mind and her body felt as if it were on fire, at the sight of being in Riverclan's home. But; this would be one soon she wouldn't forget.

Morningfur pushed through the bushes. Rarely did she have dreams so vivid. Was this going to be a sign from StarClan? Did it have something to do with Froststar's recent death? Would they talk to her about Reedheart?

The smell of WindClan made the fur on her spine rise. She pushed through the reeds, seeing a cat ahead of her.

"Hello?" she called, pushing the reeds aside.

Ivyfur whipped her head in the direction of the cat approaching, and when the smell hit the small tabbys' nose, her ears perked in alarm. "W-Who are you?" She stammered. Ivyfur looked no more than an apprentice compared to the cat before her. Besides that, this Riverclan cat wasn't a warrior. She had the smell of herbs on her fur.

"Are you Morningfur?" Ivyfur blurt out.

Morningfur was taken aback by this cat. It wasn't a StarClan cat, that was for sure. She lacked the usual glowing look that StarClan cats had, and a StarClan cat would have know who she was immediatly. So what was this WindClan warrior doing in her dream?

"Yes, I am," Morningfur answered, padding forward slowly. She recognized this she-cat from Gatherings, but didn't know her name. "And who are you?"

Taking a step back, the young warrior was freaked out. "Ivyfur or Windclan..." She mewed. She tried hiding her depressed look, yet who knows. All Ivyfur knew, was that this was really weird.

"W-Why- more like what- is going on? Do you know?" Ivyfur asked. Why was a medicine cat- who was alive- doing here? Did Starclan set this up?

"No, I don't know," Morningfur answered, looking around, and then up at the sky. "Have you ever spoken to StarClan before?"

Ivyfur shook her head. "No, I have never spoken or seen anyone from Starclan before; and I don't think I ever will." She replied, calmly. "But, I think they are trying to tell me something at times. I really doubt myself, but it comes to mind..." Ivyfur whispered.

Morningfur whipped her head back down to look at Ivyfur. "What do you mean?" she asked curiously.

Ivyfur looked over at Morningfur. "I keep having these nightmares of my death... there is just so many..." She sighed. "I know I am never going to become leader. I am just not devoting myself enough to my clan..." Ivyfur whispered, looking at the sky.

OOC:

I have not yet made Ivyfur's constant death dreams, but that goes later on in her plot.

Morningfur cocked her head, curious. "Tell me about them," she said, sitting down. "I may be able to help."

Ivyfur looked at the medicine cat, then down at her paws. "Well.. When I started having them, it was about dying from many things. Badgers, Foxes, Adders... Even drowning. Once, I had one about being killed by kittypets, and dogs... I hated that one..." She sighed. Yet, there was one that haunted her most. "The last one I had was nine sunrises ago... I got hit by three monsters, and was dying slowly. It hurt most... Afterwards, I was then finished off by accidentally eating death berries." She explained.

The thought of it hurt the she-cat's mind. She then shook her pelt, trying to get rid of the painful memory. "I always remember my dreams so clearly... Normally, I wouldn't... but these..."

Morningfur's eyes widened at this. She had never heard of dreams like that. "Do you have other, more normal dreams, other than the...er...death ones?"

Ivyfur shook her head. "Either those, or I don't dream at all. Well; besides this one. Thank you, Morningfur, for this, so far. I feel as if dreams are the only time there are no... Well, boundaries to clan life." She said, softly.

"You're welcome," she said, giving a single nod. "Medicine Cats are not hindered by borders; if a cat from another clan needs our help, we will gladly help." She glanced around, listening, but did not hear any other sounds. "I still find it odd that we're here..."

Ivyfur nodded, and she felt herself slipping away. "I'm waking up.. I'll see you at the gathering!" She said, slowly vanishing from her dream.
