Hazelkit Explores

Hazelkit looked out to the entrence of the nursery. She took a deep breath and walked out of the nursery. She was amazed by the size of the camp. She wanted to explore but she was afraid of doing something wrong. She looked around for someone to talk to. She wandered around helplessly in the clearing. She kept trying to get the nerve to say hi to someone but kept chickening out.

Lightpaw was coming back to camp after a swim in the river, when she had seen a kit walking around, looking a bit afraid.She walked over,still a little wet from the swim, and she introduced her self. "Hi, I'm Lightpaw, what's your name?" Lightpaw asked as she shook whatever water was still on her pelt off.

Hazelkit flinched at the water from Lightpaw's pelt. "Umm... I-I'm Hazelkit. Nice to meet you! Are you an apprentice?" She was a little nervous at first but then looked at the new cat in awe. An apprentice! She hesitantly asked "C-Can y-you show me around camp? This is my first time out." she admitted.

Lightpaw smiled "Of course I'll show you around camp!" Lightpaw said. "Follow me." Lightpaw was so proud that this kit asked her for a tour. She padded over to the apprentice den, looking back to make sure the kit was following on the way. She sat down and curled her tail over her paws. "This is the apprentice den, all of the apprentices sleep here." Lightpaw said. She swore she heard a rustling sound inside, but no one came out. She looked back at Hazelkit. "You will be sleeping here one day, when your old enough to." Lightpaw said. "Now lets go over to the Warrior den!" Before Lightpaw got up she took a quick glance at the apprentice den, expecting someone to jump out and scare her. All she could make out was the bodies of sleeping cats.

Hazelkit peered into the apprentice den. "Do you sleep here?" she saw many sleeping cats inside. As Lightpaw got up she followed her. This was so exciting!

Lightpaw smiled. "Yes, I do sleep here." She said, before walking over to the warriors den. "This is the warriors den" Lightpaw looked in. There were a few warriors in there."Most of the warriors are busy today." Lightpaw meowed. She looked back at Hazelkit. "Next, we'll go over to the leader's den!"

Hazelkit followed Lightpaw to the warriors den. "I'm going to be the best warrior RiverClan has ever seen!" the little kit boasted. She then heard Lightpaw announce that they were going to the leaders den. She quickly got back on her feet and followed. "Who is the leader?" As she left she quickly peered into the warriors den and imagined herself as a warrior.

Lightpaw frowned "Are you sure you'll be the best warrior? Because you have some competition against me!" Lightpaw said playfully. Lightpaw started padding over to the laeder's den she looked back at the kit. "Froststar, Froststar is the leader." Lightpaw said. "Maybe someday the leader will be Hazelstar!" Lightpaw purred.  She stopped in front of Froststar's den, and sat down. She peered in, but it was dark in there. She couldn't tell if the leader was in there or not.

Hazelkit looked in. "Is the leader in there?" She asked in a hushed voice. She looked inside the dark den and couldn't see anything. She was too scared to call in.
